I camped from the 2nd to the 5th of July this summer of 2022 all by myself. it was my first time there because all of the other places were full and didnโt have space so I got lucky I found Island Park campground where there was flush toilet hot water shower and trash garbage can. The entrance gate admission guards were very friendly even when I forgot to bring my reservation iD , They found me and lead me to my space . The campground were clean , I only wished I could have more privacy and peace when it came to my neighbors around me , But then again I understand Fourth of July celebration and loud parties . I was glad that I could do swimming and got tan and read my book . I regret that I didnโt realized that I could . have rent a.boat or jet ski . In our site there wasnโt any sign of any sorts that signaling people that they can hire a boat or jet ski at the other side of the lake . But generally as a woman camping alone I felt very safe and welcomed by my Neihbor campers I had such a great time there and I definitely come back for. Boating /kayaking . I even encouraged many of my coworkers and my yoga instructor to visit the place that they asked me about it. I definitely recommend this place . I also have done horseback riding in the upper part of sequoia National park which runs by another...

The air was super refreshing and it just felt... euphoric. My family and I were on a mission to do a bit of outdoorsy fishing (mainly for bluegills). We didn't stray too far from the Pine Flat Lake boat drop off, just to the hills along the left side of the lake.
We had a great view of the Marina as well as the local boaters and home owners. It was really pleasing to see how a place that had no signal, no major buildings, no smog, no sort of hustle-bustle scene still make the locals and myself... smile. It was really a place to put away all the non-important aspects of our life to stop and breathe a little.
Glad that university's over and summer's right around the corner. Pine Flat Lake and the Marina was such a beautiful place to relax and reminisce. Hopefully I can visit...

The Kings River feeds directly into this lake along with some other creeks and tributaries.
The lake is operated by the Army Corp of Engineers and makes for an excellent area to explore during the spring time when the surrounding hills are covered in lush green and wildflowers. In the summer time, these same hills turn into "California Gold" and is an absolute pain to trek through as Foxtails and other "velcro-like" plants dominate the scenery.
There is great fishing on this lake as it has an expansive shoreline with many little alcoves .
The lake gets ridiculously hot in the summer due to being at lower elevations with not much tree cover on the hillsides and banks, please wear sunscreen while out...
