What a find! So much better than what I was expecting! Truly a fine art museum PLUS an amazingly diverse and eclectic collection of artifacts from Greco Roman pottery, coins, ollas to Egyptian mummies, shrunken heads (and the procedure for doing that!) longnose sawshark nose bone, Pope Pius X, skullcap, other religious artifacts, Dogon and other African tribal masks, indigenous peoples' clothing and tools, Chinese smoking pipes and oh so much more, including lots of oil paintings, some by Gerrer himself and up to mixed media. Could've easily stayed an hour or more to really study the displays but they were about to close. And according to the lady at the front desk, what is on display is merely 4% of Gerrer's collection due to building size and the exhibits are changed out seasonally so definitely go back again and again!...

5,000 years of culture and history consumed in one afternoon!

This gem was unknown to me until I stopped by with a colleague while we were visiting one of our good customers in Shawnee.

Take in art and artifacts from all over the world as they pique your curiosity to study the civilizations who created them.

Put your headphones in for themed playlists on Spotify as you go through the exhibits as well!

Keep coming back for new exhibits! This visit was Birds in Art, and it was beautiful!

It was great to visit you guys today! I’m looking forward to seeing...

It's a small but intimate museum with lots of art. It does feature a few Egyptian mummy's. It's very peaceful and and a few artifacts date back a few thousand years with one dating back 8,000 year ago, circa 6,000 b.c.e.

While checking out this museum, in which admission is free during the months of June, July and August (2022), don't forget to check out the Monks Marketplace within walking distance or a 1 minute car ride. They offer homemade candles, soaps, cuts if beef raised on their own cattle farm, their very own peanut...

Fantastic place! All of the staff are very friendly, and the entry alone into the building is a work of art. The main exhibit hall is such a delight, showcasing a really nice variety of art and pieces from across time and location. They also were doing “Off the Wall” which is a fantastic art auction/fundraiser the day I visited. Would definitely recommend this place for schools, families, and individuals.
