Great place to do animal encounters. Me and my party did the zookeeper and otter experiences. I have to say this was a pretty cool experience.
Zookeeper Experience: In this encounter you get to feed and touch Kangaroos, Capybaras, and Ring Tail Lemurs. You get about 50 minutes total and its a lot of fun! For the encounter price this is the best bundle deal you can get for these encounters. When it comes to the Lemurs they do caution you about not touching them. But if the Lemur touches you that is fine. They may try to hold your finger when you feed them.
Otter + Ruffed Lemur (Black and White): This encounter lets you interact with Otters and Ruffed Lemurs. The Otters were probably the best part! You get some toys that you can use to play with the Otters, though in our experience they were kind of tired. They do like anything that shines though and love collecting rocks! The Otters are really playful and may try climbing you so be sure to empty your pockets! For this encounter you get to sit in their enclosure and play with them. Really fun. The Ruffed Lemurs (Scar and Mufasa) are quite the pair. Scar is more "cooperative" compared to Mufasa. But both are fun and are highly food motivated. In this encounter you get to meet them by their enclosure and you can feed/touch them through their cage. These Lemurs are fluffy and love armpit rubs, at least Scar does. They do have another "bonus" encounter at the end which is holding an armadillo. It is the very brief but quite fun. The one I got to hold loves to race!
Overall this was a pretty great experience. We ended up traveling over 3.5 hours just for these encounters. My advice for anyone traveling any distance is to make sure you reserve your encounters ahead of time and plan. In order to do the encounters you must buy general admission tickets. The farm/zoo is quite big they have a decently big gravel parking lot and lots of attractions from a splash park, petting zoo, and other fun farm like attractions. The Petting zoo is a lot of fun and I recommend buying the feed. (The feed is a cup of pellets). You can feed most of the petting zoo animals like the goats, camels, cows, donkeys, alpacas, and deer. Even though the weather was good today quite a few attractions were closed including the Silo. My only other area for improvement would be to include free admission with encounters. Personally, we were not able to take full advantage of our general admission as a few of the attractions we wanted to do were closed, and the silo was closed. We mainly came for the animal encounters so once those were done we just went home. It kind of feels like paying extra for something we did not really use. Other than that we had a great time and highly recommend...
Read moreIâm giving my review a one star because I am rating the advertised âfallâ experience not the normal summer activities.
It is advertised that starting September 2nd is their âFall Festivalâ which on their website says is âopen dailyâ and includes things such as pumpkin photo ops specialty fall drinks, corn maze, etc. All of these extras that they have available during their fall festival allows them to charge extra for a ticket into the park September through October. Now I am not usually one to complain, however during our family trip today we found that there is really nothing different happening yet. We tried to order hot apple cider which is on the menu when you walk in and they said âoh thatâs not available yet maybe this weekendâ. Well okay, so we ordered some donuts and while we were eating we heard 2 more people ask for hot cider. Clearly, hot cider is a fall âspecialtyâ drink people look forward to and itâs not available. Okay fine whatever. Moving on to inside the farmâŠthere was absolutely nothing extra we could do that you canât do on a normal summer day. The fall flower picking wasnât open, no corn maze, there were two giant skeletons but no pumpkins anywhere. I have been a season pass owner as well as having been to their âfall festivalâ before so I know what to expect. We were highly disappointed as avid fall lovers who spent extra money on tickets to make a âfall outingâ with the family that there was nothing fall about it. I feel as though it is false advertising and a little bit of a scam to make you pay for a special event ticket and not have it all put together and available. Also, if there a certain things that are not open during the weekdays that should be disclosed to allow people the opportunity to decide which day they are coming if they want the full experience as it seems like a lot of the things that are open on weekends are closed during the week and to be honest there should be a special weekday price I can pay since I donât get to enjoy the full experience. To be honest, I just feel highly disappointed, wanted to let management know that itâs really not okay to be charging extra for what they have available right now, and to let people planning their trips know to absolutely not come yet if you want the full fall experience they advertise and maybe call ahead to make sure everything is up and running...
Read moreWe just left about 30 mins ago.... This place was a lot of fun. There was so much to do for both my kids that are 10 & 2. The animals were so sweet and friendly. Not crazy acting like some petting zoos where they jump and crowd so I really enjoyed that. Loved the little swings in front of the corn pit. I was able to swing with my youngest while my oldest was in there with her grandma. All the little games around the walk way were pretty fun. I was bummed that the bacon place wasn't opened but it gives me a reason to come back lol. The food was really good, my kids had the chicken, my mom had the cheese burger, my fiance had the chicken bacon ranch wrap and I had the pulled pork and it was extremely good (I also got the brisket Mac & cheese to bring home so will know how good that is later). I will say the biggest disappointment was the milkshakes, they look a lot better than they tasted. We got the cosmic brownie one that's made with chocolate ice cream and unfortunately it tasted so watered down that you didn't even taste chocolate. My oldest got the mint one and she said it was ok but she didn't even finish half of it. I got the cookie dough and was very disappointed, the cookie crumble on the rip was stale just from sitting out which I do understand why that part is done in advance so that part wasn't a big deal but then the shake itself I assumed would be cookie dough ice cream, it was not. It was vanilla ice cream with cookie crumbs mixed in it with whipped cream on top with a few chocolate chips and three cookie dough chunks tossed on top. Sadly that too just tasted like watered down ice cream. The pretzels from the little snack truck thing was really good and that lady in there was super nice and understanding when I asked if she could put my pretzels through the warmer again because they were still cold inside.
I will say the restroom were very clean, I felt horrible walking on the grass though in order to go and see the animal just because I didn't want to mess up their pretty grass. The staff was amazing and so sweet. Overall the 3 hour drive was definitely worth it for sure and we...
