We recently had the pleasure of visiting lake Cushman on a sunny day, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The name "Clearwaters" perfectly captures the essence of this stunning location. As soon as we arrived, I was struck by the calm, glass-like surface of the water. The lake was so clear, you could see right to the bottom in certain areas, and the light reflecting off the surface created a shimmering effect that felt almost magical.
The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful and serene, with barely a ripple disturbing the water. The quiet was only interrupted by the gentle sounds of natureโa soft breeze through the trees and the occasional call of birds. It was the perfect setting for relaxation, whether you're looking to simply sit by the shore and soak in the beauty, or take a leisurely paddle across the lake.
The surrounding landscape added to the tranquility, with lush greenery framing the lake on all sides, and the sky above was a bright, and blue. The sunny weather made everything feel warm and inviting, without being overwhelming. It was an ideal place to escape the noise of everyday life and find a moment of peace in nature.
Overall, lake Cushman is a gemโif you're looking for a serene getaway with stunning views, crystal-clear water, and a calming atmosphere, this lake is...
ย ย ย Read moreWE SAW A BEAR! This was mid August, my review is a little late. Love Lake Cushman! Spent the weekend at Big Creek and drove to swim at Cushman. Water was very swimmable mid August. As we were parking at one of the pull outs to swim, I saw a large fuzzy black dog down the road. Didn't look right so I drove down to where I last saw him and didn't see anything. Got out of car and walked back looking for him down by the water thinking the heat was affecting my eyesite. IT WASN'T!! Saw him heading back towards a family with an infant, down at a picnic table by the water. I warned them about the bear and they rushed up to the safety of the cars. Bear wandered past the picnic table checking for food. I was able to get some pics from a safe distance. I'm guessing he knows where there are picnics, there is food. Just an FYI, leave no trace and keep an eye out. Spent 2 weeks in Yellowstone last year and didn't see one bear, should have just gone to Cushman to see a bear, ...

LETโS MAKE SURE WE PROTECT IT BY LEAVING IT BETTER THEN WE FOUND IT!
We are traveling from south Florida and are used to overcrowded beaches, loud tourists, garbage on the shore and rude locals. None of that here at Lake Cushman.
The lake is adjacent to the Olympic NP area called the Staircase but you do not need a park pass to enjoy the lake.
The day use areas are amazing with steps that take you down to the water and picnic tables. Lots of little pullouts big enough for a camper van or RV.
You can kayak or paddle the lake. The water is super clear and refreshing in August. Not too cold! We went for a swim and then chilled on the bank for a while.
Day use only, no overnight parking allowed. Respect the rules. Two campgrounds are minutes away, and have...
