We did the 1.5 mile loop suggested o nthe board at the parking lot. The way up gets progressively more interesting and scramble-y. Steady footing and caution required at a bunch of spots. The first " rock summit" come up pretty quick but the trail continues on the other side to a few more good spots. Loop back on part of the AT easy downhill going parallel to the way up.

If you're up for it, do the Bearfence Rock Scramble! It's not a long hike, but the rock scramble was challenging for 4 guys in the winter. It may be easier without any snow, but there is a lot more climbing than we expected which made for a fun experience. Continue past to the viewpoint, and come back on the AT.

A great hike - as long as you are ok with some moderate+ level of scrambling over rocks..! We did the AllTrails loop - and went clockwise to do the rock scrambling first, then the gentler descent back down to the trail head.
