Today was our first time back to sweet meadow since Covid. Pre-Covid my oldest was obsessed with pony rides with Cole. His birthday was last week and my mom had inquired to see if pony rides were happening again. We were told that the only option was a riding lesson. My mom expressed that we would do that if it meant my son got to interact with Cole again; the woman my mom spoke to said she would make a note in the book that my son wanted to ride Cole. We got there today and they had another horse ready for him. We stated that my son really was looking forward to seeing Cole and that a note should have been made. The woman there said they never promise a horse to someone and that riding Cole wasn’t an option today. Okay; my son adapted and rode a different horse. But 1) that should have been made clear when we booked the lesson instead of just saying they would make a note of it. Then we could have prepared my 5 year old. 2) it wasn’t a riding lesson. It was a 30 minute pony ride. All my son did was get walked around with the horse. He was really looking forward to helping care for the horse too and learn. 3) we paid $65 dollars for what was supposed to be a 45 minute riding lesson and my son was brought back in precisely 30 minutes. We asked why his lesson wasn’t the full amount of time and we were told that 15 minutes of the lesson is usually for setting the saddle up, but because the horse was already ready to go and was also being used for another lesson after, he just got more riding time instead. Except that isn’t more riding time. He essentially missed out on 15 minutes of this experience and yet we were still charged for a full lesson. My son would have been happy with even just brushing the horse or petting him, ect. The icing on the cake was bringing my son to the bathroom by the playground afterwards. There was a staff member there who said that we were not allowed to use the playground. We said that we knew that, we did a riding lesson and we were just looking at the fish and using the bathroom. She said okay and then let us into the area and then had to repeat to us that we weren’t allowed to use the playground. We were not trying to. It was just rude and necessary. Overall it wasn’t a positive experience and definitely wasn’t worth the price we paid. We were also asked if we planned to do weekly riding lessons and expressed that we wanted to see how my son liked it and would maybe do every other week. We were told that there was a 300 person wait list and parents were paying for three months in advance. I get that this is a business but I feel like we were viewed as less important because we were not immediately paying for lessons months in advance. Unfortunately I think we will be looking for a different place for my son...
Read moreI went into the office to get information about the Mommy and Me class, which sounds amazing. Unfortunately my experience was tainted when walking back to my car. I stopped to let my daughter look at (not touch) the cows. I was so close to my car I could have reached out and touched it. We were not within 15 feet of the animals. Within 30 seconds an employee approached me and told me I couldn't stand there and had to leave. I explained that just left the office with information for summer classes, this is my car, we are leaving, my daughter is plainly LOOKING at the animals. The manager continued to be confrontational. The experience was so offputting I told her that I now wouldn't be signing up for the class. She said "that's fine." The only reason this isn't getting one star is because when I went back in to complain to her manager about it she was very nice. However, the employee was standing right there and continued to argue with me! When I left she said with a snarky tone "have a nice day!" I'm in Human Resources, and if I were her manager she would be written up in a second and possibly even...
Read moreThis place is horrible. I was buying hay from them and their treats they make. After I saw the bunny breeding they do there I can’t support them anymore. I was there today because I needed hay fast for my bun and they were the closest I saw about 10 bunnies in two small cages with barely any water and no space to stretch out. There was this one baby bunny that was sitting in the corner of the cage because he didn’t have space to binky around. I also asked the owner where she gets these bunnies hoping she’d tell me she adopted them but she told me she buys them from a breeder. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS FARM. Please adopt do not shop. If your looking to have a bun in your life please adopt from the The...
