Rice Creek North Regional Trail Corridor is a truly wonderful escape into nature! The paved trails are excellent for biking, walking, and running, offering a smooth and enjoyable experience as you wind through beautiful wooded areas and scenic marshlands. It's remarkable how quickly you feel disconnected from the urban hustle and immersed in the tranquility of the surroundings.
The dog park here is a huge plus – it's quite large and seems to be a real hit with the canine crowd. The sandy surface provides a good spot for dogs to run freely, and there are even small ponds for them to splash around in, which is a fantastic feature for water-loving pups. Just be sure to bring a towel and be prepared for a happy, sandy mess!
While the main trails are generally well-kept, I did notice that some of the signage could be a bit clearer, especially at points where the trail crosses residential streets. It's a good idea to have a map or use your phone's GPS, particularly if you plan on exploring some of the less obvious side trails. Despite this minor point, the overall experience is incredibly peaceful and refreshing. It's a fantastic resource for anyone looking to enjoy...
Read moreThis was a great park I decided to visit at random since it was close to home. I parked in a residential area since the dog park side was so busy. Trails are paved and wind through nice nature areas. There are some dirt paths you can cross through where the flowers and weeds are but I didn't since I saw some snakes and didn't want to stress about it. Pretty birds flew around. Mosquitoes weren't bad at all on the paved trails anyway but there were quite a few near the water and some dirt trails I took to stay off the sidewalks. I didn't see any public restrooms at least where I started and ended. I didn't cut through the dog park but there might be some over there. Lots of people on bikes and I didn't see any children, just adults on this day. No picnic areas that I saw. The dog park is off leash and poop bags are provided. There were a lot of dogs there when I passed by but didn't cut through. One of the paths takes you by some nice townhomes. Very lucky views from their porches. Worth a visit and...
Read moreI have only been here for the dog park. I LOVE the dog park here. People are awesome, the dogs are awesomer (that's a word now), and the park is huge for your average dog park that I've been to.
A few downfalls for some may be:
It is a sandy walking area, so it's a little difficult to walk for some, and toys get sandy if you bring any. I personally don't mind.
There are mini ponds here, so if you have a dog that loves the water, and you don't, this may be an issue.
Not everyone picks up their dog poo, so don't wear your Air Jordans or Yeezy's.
Like I mentioned before, it is a bigger park, so maybe for older dogs it may be too big.
If any of that sounds like an issue, maybe it's not for you. Otherwise, I personally think it's an amazing place to bring the...
