Lake Minnetonka is a one of a kind body of water with dozens of bays and islands located on the West side of the Twin Cities Metro. My business Scuba Weed Control provides lake weed removal services on Lake Minnetonka throughout the summer, and getting to see and work on every bay of the lake over the past 10 years has truly been a privilege.
In addition to working on Lake Minnetonka removing lake weeds with Scuba Weed Control, I have also had the chance to spend many days on the lake exploring all it has to offer with friends and family.
In my opinion, Lake Minnetonka is one of the top three lakes in the United States based on what it offers: the atmosphere, natural beauty, clean & clear water, biodiversity of fish, animals and plant life, activities (fishing, lake-accessable dining, pedal pubs, boat cruises, lakeside house tours, beaches, public lakeside activities, island parties, and many more), and the cultural, social, ecological, and financial value it brings to the state of Minnesota and its residents.
If you haven't had the chance to visit Lake Minnetonka, I would highly recommend a boat cruise in June or July. One thing to consider - if you plan to come on a weekend in June or July, the lake can get quite busy. If you don't have much experience driving a boat, I would recommend avoiding weekend afternoons or hiring a...

Read moreOn a recent visit to the Twin Cities we decided to visit the Minneapolis Institute of Art. It isn’t hard to find but due to a lot of construction in the area, it took us a while to get there. The museum is free and there is parking (not free) is just to the south of the main building. I used our credit card to get in the parking garage, and when you do it this way you just use your card to exit – no ticket, despite the somewhat confusing signs. It looked like street parking was scarce, and other TA reviews seem to confirm this. The museum itself is terrific in my opinion. We spent half a day and barely scratched the surface of this huge place. There is a very nice gift shop and a deli on the first floor with art on the upper floors. We went to the 3rd floor, spent about an hour looking at the art, then got coffee and a mid-afternoon pastry at the deli (Agra Culture MIA Café). We didn’t have any kids with us on this visit but it looked like a pretty kid-friendly place, with a lot of thing that kids would find interesting and fun. Will definitely go back if we have the...
