This place is amazing and well worth the journey. Some paved roads but mostly dirt roads. If you grew up in Wyoming it is good road, if you are from the east or west coast it will seem very remote, but road is navigable all the way by truck, SUV and most cars. Beware this open cattle range so watch for cattle on road and antelope too! If you just slow down the cattle will move out your way. When you first get there, you will be at the top of the canyon. Google maps ends there. While you can walk along the top of the canyon and it had some great views. Make sure to continue on past the first sign to bottom the canyon. There you will find an information board, a nice gravelled well maintained path that easy to hike and relatively flat even for kids, elderly and probably even powered wheel chairs. It relatively short loop and you can see lots petroglyphs. These were created the 1400 and 1500s. So amazing! FYI no restrooms there so be prepared. Make sure you have enough gas and bring water, sunscreen and sunhat! Some many cool rock formations!

Beautiful landscape and incredible petroglyphs! Castle Gardens Petroglyphs was worth the drive to see. The petroglyphs are stunning and well preserved. Unfortunately, there is modern graffiti interspersed with many of the petroglyphs, but fencing now protects the historic images. The Heraldry panel is particularly noteworthy. I highly recommend this site for its natural beauty and historic importance.

Absolutely worth going to. We were there for 4-6 hrs and didn't see another person till we were leaving. Petroglyphs were interesting and surrounded by cyclone fences. A lot of modern petroglyphs riddled the entire area informing the modern age that Cindy and Craig were there in 1988 and millions of other similar historical messages. The pictures taken were amazing.

This is an amazing and beautiful part of Wyoming. It is a little off the proverbial beaten path, which is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, but I would highly recommend. There are some rocks that you can climb, of course see the petroglyphs, (SHAME ON YOU WHO CHISELED OUT WYOMING'S HISTORY!), and walk in the sunshine with the animals. There is a good chance of seeing Wyoming floral...
