I swore that I would never put a dime in another Indian (Native American) Casino again because of their notoriously bad returns but violated my pledge and the wife and I decided to try our luck. We agreed to "contribute" no more than $40.00 each. If and when that produced a fair chance or some entertainment we might have stayed but true to form on Indian reservations the Slots were so tight they squeaked.
Some slots pay off a few coins now and then to keep you entertained but I sat a machine that took $40.00 without blinking an eye, not one pay out. I have tried my luck at casinos in many states but the "Res" slots are pure rape. I don't get it with slots and "ESPECIALLY" those on the Reservations. It seems that we owe it to the Indians even though the reside on some of the most beautiful land in every state. If you put money in a slot on a reservation you walk out with a big red S on your forehead and they are laughing all the way to the bank.
I will never, never enter a casino on an Indian Reservation again. The one armed robbery that is going on in Indian Casinos shows that scalping is still acceptable practice on the Res.
The only thing that made the stop worth our while was the Propane filling station across the street. The price of Propane was $1.60/gal. This was a great deal so we got some of our money back by filing three 5 gallon tanks there.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES that you go to the Casino and Hon-Dah. It is a rip off of Biblical proportion. You will get scalped there if you play their slots. In most if not all non Indian casinos you get complimentary drinks as you gamble but of course on the Res there is no Liquor so no drinks, "you puts your money down and takes your chances" which are very bad, no make that non existent. You have to hand it to them though, they are very efficient at taking your cash. It is just Wham, Bam, Thank you mam. It is like an "In and Out Burger". My experience in that Casino was like fast food restaurant rectum rocket, "Fast in and fast out"!
To add insult to injury while filling up our Truck with gas we got Pan Handled by an inebriated Native American at the gas station. The guy could hardly stand but I have seen this before. Even though I lost $80.00 dollars at the Casino I opened my wallet and handed the poor drunk soul the last $4.00 I had in cash in my wallet as I do not usually carry a lot of cash.
I always see indians on TV with a tear running down their cheeks and crying about what the White Man has done to the Earth. In my life I have traveled to many Reservations and they are always the dirtiest places with shacks and plastic bags and bottles all over the place not to mention the stray dogs that are rampant. The have a lot of time on their hands but never use it constructively. They own the best land in most of the states but use it like an outdoor toilet. It is a shame that they lack the pride they always brag about on the...
Read moreI make my contributions to their payroll so I cant say anything bad about the casino part. Their food, it depends on whose cooking. I wish they would make changes to their buffet!!! They serve the same old boring food daily. I do not like a lot of it. I guess their menu food is OK. They have a seafood buffet that a lot of people attend. I don't because majority of it is shell fish and I'm allergic to shell fish. The price is very high!!!! Especially if you are allergic to shell fish. Then there is the hotel. My husband and I have stayed their a couple of times and were very disappointed. The rooms are very nice! But the times we stayed were on the weekend. There were a lot of drunk people walking down the hallway frequently!! Not to be trying to discriminate against anyone but most were Native American. I walked by a room that the door was open and saw that there were people sleeping on the floor. The person at the door was extremely drunk and was very loud. I was on my way to the front desk to complain. I tried calling on the phone but didn't have an answer. I waited on the desk clerk who was very friendly and polite, she apologized and stated she was trying to find the parents of children that were in the swimming pool after hours. Geez, they aren't suppose to be babysitters! I have also been in the casino and heard them paging for parents to pick up their kids in the game room. Is'nt that a safety hazard on the casino to have unattended children. Then at our last stay there we were walking back to the roon and there was a Native American man asleep on the couch in the lobby and I asked the desk clerk if that was aloud and she said security was coming to handle it. Well an hour later when I went back to the casino, the same man was asleep on the couch. To me very inappropriate! But, again, I cannot say anything bad about their casino, the employees are very nice and attentive! To me, some of their machines are too loud and aggrevating! I don't drink so I notice it more than someone drinking would. I did like it however when it didn't serve alcohol! It is not Non-smoking appropriate. I have found in the nation that there are more non-smokers than smokers and if you walk around in places like this you will see there are more not smoking than smoking, AND we are a non-smoking state, so I think they should make a smoking room, and then more non-smokers would feel more comfortable there. I have seen in Las Vegas that those casinos that are non-smoking stay full than those that aren't...
Read moreThis is one I will never forget. If anybody else has had a similar experience please let me know. I was visiting the area with a friend. His mother and his aunt were coming in from 60 miles north of Arizona so we all shared one room with 2 beds. We gambled a bit and I had won a $500 jackpot and I was satisfied, So I decided to quit and go to the room to rest. It was around 1:30 am. I entered the room which opened with a key card. A distinct sounding lock. I laid down on the bed closest to the door and fell asleep quickly. I woke to the sound of my friend coming in at around 4 am. about half an hour passed and we continued to sleep while his mom showered. I heard the sound of the key card opening the door. I figured it was the aunt because she was still gambling when my friend returned. I laid still but remained awake. I saw a woman with shoulder length hair and a blue sleeveless shirt. She had her purse on her shoulder. She very quickly came over to my side of the bed and was looking toward the window, which was to the right. I jumped up because I didn't recognize her and realized this was a spirit. A ghost. I believe this was a recurring spirit. As I jumped over his body in fear, he woke up and I told him what I saw. He said he heard the key card unlock the door but also figured it was his aunt. We all packed quickly and left . I have never ever seen anything like this before and was a true sceptic. I will always vividly remember...
