Badger Mine & Museum — Attraction in Shullsburg

I've been on a lot of different mine tours over the years (this was my first lead mine), but this one was one of the best. While the mine itself was not the most memorable, the way that the tour guide tied the local history to the mine along with the artifacts we were shown gave a picture of the life of the miners and of how the area had developed which is missing from so many other mines. This place was great. Tons of interesting old relics in the museum to explore and then down into a real lead mine from the 1830s! Our tour guide was knowledgeable and fun and the mine itself is super cool (literally, it's pretty far underground). Just stumbled on this place as we were passing through, but I would suggest seeking it...
