Great hike! It was only about an hour or so out (1.5mi) to the creek and we had a great time socializing en route. The path is pretty narrow and steep, but everyone was wearing masks and very accommodating when trying to pass.

The views were excellent, especially if you know what you're looking at. Hikers were friendly and there was a mix of families, friends, and plenty of shirtless hotties :)

I'd say it was a moderately difficult trail but easy enough to just go out to First Water and circle back. There's plenty of shade in the afternoon and some benches along the way. The steepness of the incline was probably the most challenging aspect, but don't let that stop you! It was very...

Tough hike. Leave early to make the round trip to Mt. Wilson and back. I did it when I was 18 years old and it was hard then (48 years ago) but well worth it. If you don't leave early enough you might be stuck on the mountain at night and have to have someone drive up to get you home. Great views. Lots of plants and trees to see along the way up. Orchard Camp half way up is a good place to stop for lunch. Hike down is faster than the slog up. Be sure to bring enough food and water and have some warm clothes in case you are stuck up there at night. If you leave by 9 AM you should have plenty of time to make...

Parked in the residential area near trail park (public restrooms, playground) and walked up to the beginning of the trail. It is a popular hike even at 6:00 a.m. on a Saturday. It took us 2 hours roundtrip to First water. It is steep at times and narrow trails at times, but it's worth it!!! There was a small steady stream of water. Bring bug spray, the skeeters were out (near the water). Great way to start...

I prefer hiking on the trail with waterfalls at the end or on the way. This one has a small river only. And I have to ask other hikers if this area is the end of First Water trail. But there is a super hard-to-find small waterfalls on half way. It may not be accessible because it hides in lot of trees and all the way to the other side. I used zoom-in to take the picture. I didn't keep going further to different area.
