Highwater Farm is an incredible asset to our community. I’ve participated in a variety of CSAs over many years and have experience with organic farming and youth core work. My husband and I have been Highwater CSA members for 2 years now, and have been impressed with their mission, the quality, quantity, and variety of produce grown, and their commitment to helping those in need in our community. We love that we get to go the farm once a week to pick up our share and connect with what’s happening on the farm. The Highwater Farm team works long and hard throughout the year to bring sustainable agriculture to our community providing local food to so many alongside their youth empowerment program in the summertime as well as community events, education, and outreach. I am very impressed with the thoughtfulness of how Highwater Farm is run and the commitment to their mission. I am incredibly grateful to be able to enjoy high-quality local produce from June-October and support an organization that I whole-heartedly believe in that is women founded...

But come to find out an hour into working that's not the case. I couldn't even buy anything at the farm. The young gall that was working there was nice enough, but unsure. She lead the volunteer group well enough, but when we asked about picking out some variety veggies for our efforts, she was very hesitant and said she would have to call the farm manager. A bit later she said we could take some green beans after we did some more work, but we decided to leave. We did about a weeks worth of work for them in an hour....what a bummer I couldn't even fill up a bag, of variety veggies...and I don't think that the fee to pay for membership and pickup products is worth...
Read moreI had the pleasure to be a part of the work share program in exchange for produce. It was a wonderful experience and I gained more than just food. I learned how to grow my own food and cook with local veggies that were new to me. I love that everyone in this farm cares about the quality of their products and avoid the use of any herbicides/pesticides. The people who work there are salt of the earth type people who happily welcome anyone who is interested to the farm; whether to look, take produce home, or help work on the farm. I encourage anyone who is looking for a healthy lifestyle or wants to be involved in their community to look at...
