I recently had the pleasure of visiting Rifle and experienced exceptional service from the camp host, Hugh. Hugh's commitment to ensuring a positive and safe environment for campers was evident throughout my stay. One notable example of his dedication was when he reinforced the road with sandbags, ensuring access to the campground despite the irregularly high snowfall from earlier this year. His proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving truly sets him apart.

Not only did Hugh go above and beyond to address infrastructure concerns, but he also showed genuine care for visitors' well-being. When I unfortunately injured my back while climbing, Hugh immediately offered assistance and helped me safely return to my campsite. His attentiveness and support during a difficult time were greatly appreciated. Additionally, his commitment to reuniting me with my misplaced climbing rope by promptly notifying the lost and found exemplifies his responsible and reliable nature.

While Hugh's contributions were outstanding, it is essential to acknowledge the collective effort of the entire camp host team at Rifle. Garrett, in particular, played a significant role in maintaining the cleanliness and Emily keeps the peace in the canyon. Their dedication to the upkeep of the trails and their friendly assistance with day use and camping fees added to the overall positive experience of my visit.

In conclusion, my time at Rifle was made memorable thanks to the hard work and commitment of the camp hosts, particularly Hugh, Emily and Garrett. Their efforts, including reinforcing the road, clearing up trails, assisting visitors, and maintaining a peaceful atmosphere, deserve high praise. I highly recommend visiting Rifle and experiencing the exceptional service provided by this...

We just happened by while visiting friends, what a nice place! Greener than I thought it would be. Nice hikes, very nice campgrounds. Private setting, clean restrooms and picnic area. Easy to get into. Streams to fish and I could have spent the whole afternoon sitting near the beautiful waterfalls with that cool mist on a hot Colo day. Even some caving/rock hunting to do. Take your bike. Take your fishin' boat, there's a good sized lake nearby. Bill, the Camp Host was very pleasant and well informed. Make reservations in the height of the season. We...

AMAZING!! Traveled here in January, the ice caves were so beautiful, I definitely recommend visiting at least once. A car with four wheel drive or good in snow is best. Bring specialized shoes called crampons so you can hike around on the ice and some warm clothes. (It was a little bit steep on some parts but the shoes help so much) No bathroom anywhere. I hiked further down and also found a big cavern used for climbing.

Beautiful area in all seasons! There's climbing, hiking, picnic areas, camping, and it's dog friendly. There's so much to do here, and the canyon is stunning. The views all around are incredible. We love visiting in the winter to see the ice caves! It's just up the road from Rifle Falls State Park, and the day fee is $10. Truly a magical experience.

Some of the best climbing I've ever experienced. If you're coming from climbing on sandstone, you're going to feel like there's no feet. But what a time! There are some striking lines here. And the camping experience is great too.. towards the end of the road, right next to it and the creek.
