A really cool place on Lake Superior. Pink rocks from billion year old bedrock. You can find agate here but we unfortunately did not. When we arrived I was a little disappointed bc I thought the area to the right of the parking lot was it and it was really small but you need to go left and up the pathway. Walk past the red rock beach on the path and there are some really cool rocks you can walk out on to get some great views of the lake.

We went there with our granddaughters to look for agates but Iona's Beach is not really an agate site even though a Google search indicates that it is. There is a smaller beach just west (left at a fork in the path) down the path from the parking lot on the way to Iona's Beach where you might have some luck agate hunting. People we talked with there said that they were finding some small ones the day we stopped. That said, Iona's Beach is still a beautiful place.
