Buyer Beware! Little Switzerland management and customer Service doesn't care about holding themselves accountable for their mistakes. In the 2023-24 season I purchased a Sno Pass upgrade and it turned out that one of the resort partners was falsely advertised as a partner. Little Switzerland advertised the Mission Ridge Mountain as a partner for the Sno Pass. When we arrived to Mission Ridge, they told us that they had been reaching out to Little Switzerland for months to remove their mountain as a partner on the Little Switz website but that was not done so until the next year's season pass was advertised. Little Switzerland did not offer a refund for falsely advertising their partner mountains. We received credit to purchase the next season's pass, but even though we told them that we were moving away from Wisconsin this year, they still thought that was a good resolution for the issue. I will not be returning to Little Switzerland. I am disappointed in the decisions made by the management and customer service department.
For a review of the hill itself, I am a bit sad I have to give this a bad review since I learned here. I have been skiing at Little Switzerland for years now. This hill is best for people who are still learning. You will find better runs at other hills nearby. The main issue with the hill is that it's small and crowded. It's especially crowded on the Bunny hill. In addition to having the big crowds, they do not know how to manage crowds or lift lines well. It's probably due to a lack of workers. You can often wait in the lift line for 10-15 minutes for a 30 second run. The lift lines aren't marked well leading to a lot of confusion on where the lines even start. Liftees don't manage the lines so you will often see kids skip others to get to the front of the line, extending your own wait time. The lift lines are always in a state of chaos and there is not a single employee who cares or can afford to care. The exits to the lifts are even worse. The lift exits are short and crowded. Little Switz also doesn't do a good job at maintaining the lift exits. 80% of the time, they don't shovel snow onto the ski lift exit, there are often people sitting directly next to the lift exit, and there is no one to direct people to move. When you see half of the people exiting the lift fall, ranging from beginners and experts, you know something is wrong. On a quiet night, the lifts are not bad. The problem is that it is rarely a quiet night. This hill is just not big enough or well staffed enough for the crowds that it attracts and the staff are not on top of their game when it matters the most. And don't even get me started on the price of the hill. Since 2020, the price of this hill has sky rocketed. $80 for an all day pass is insane for the size and quality of the hill. You could purchase a one day pass at any real mountain like Vail or Keystone for $87. You're better off going to Cascade Mountain, Granite Peak, or any other Wisconsin mountain if you're looking for a decent...
Read moreYesterday, on opening day I ended up at this resort only 15 minutes from where I live in West Bend!
Being from New England, I vividly recall as a kid from 3rd-8th grade going to the mountain each week, and the wonderful feeling, adventure, and freedom always. It was just fun to be a kid and to explore, first as a skier and then as a snowboarder. Instantly, yesterday I was reminded of those brisk days at Burke Mountain, and felt the same feeling of excitement at Little Switzerland‼️
The lifts were bustling with kids and families and everyone in the chalet was happy, smiling, and enjoying life— without a care in the world.
The ambiance is warm and inviting and open which is perfect for families, couples, children, and more. Curiously I interacted with multiple people, which turned out to be parents who allowed their kids to play on the slope while still being close by. It’s a safe place. I loved the energy of LS too, the music, the vibe, it was just too cool.
I ended up having a few brew-skis too (Blue Moon, my favorite) and the bar was steady but appropriately staffed, and the chicken fingers were hot and a perfect portion to share.
Lastly, I got to meet Jen G, the GM, and learned a little about the history of the resort and the ski-in/ski/out Air BNB’s on property, as well. She shared stories of her kids growing up on the mountain, Little Switzerland weddings, and much more. Thank you for taking a few mins to meet, chat, and happy you could sit and relax near the end of the first day...
Read moreThis ski resort reopened a few years ago and is fantastic. The Schmitz brothers have done a lot to improve an already great ski resort and their enthusiasm is contagious and rubbed off on all of their employees. They are focused on you having fun! Prices are reasonable and competitive for the area. The lodge has been redone and is beautiful. The upper level has a big bar area with spectacular views of the hill. They also serve food that is very tasty off the menu in a nice dining room big enough to accommodate big groups. The ski hill has added a lot of new snow guns this year so they have been able to open early and can continue to make more snow as long as it's cold enough. Their snow making ability is what really helps when Mother Nature won't cooperate. The staff in the ski rental area is very helpful whether you need skis, poles, boots, helmets or boards and there is also a nice shop to purchase items you may have forgotten for your day. The ski areas have many different skill levels so all in your group can ski regardless of skiing abilities. The terrain park also has several different skill areas so a good place to learn boarding and then improve on your skills. They have wonderful ski instructors who genuinely want to help you learn how to ski. There is also a nice beginner area for the little tots or even those of us who are learning as adults. I strongly recommend this ski resort as the place to go for a fun filled day...
