My 4th great grandfather was wounded here and I came as a kid too see his name on the plaque. It was a really hot July day and I was small - we did the full loop around and I'm glad we did though I still remember it was quite grueling for a wee lad. Happened to be driving by last month and took a few mins to show my daughter. (Full circle!) We went counter clockwise to do the quick quarter mile directly to the obelisk. Wish we had had more time but, still, to read the park's pamphlet and a couple of the signs on the path was really great. Especially along with some other accounts and videos you can find online, it's easy to picture the battle going down. Being such an important one, which historians say was the beginning of the tide turning in the colonists' favor, well worth even a quick visit if you're...

In 2012 my mom and me were visiting the Battlefields of Cowpens and King's Mountain. After visiting the first, which was a great visit, we came to the second. We were told that there was a movie and a tour and we asked them we were very interested in watching the movie before going to look at the somewhat large exhibit area. The displays were, to be honest, well done and very detailed. But they failed to tell us when the movie started - a person went through the exhibit and told everybody but us. And when we complained they didn't seem to care. On top of that there was no announcement when the Battlefield tour started. I am sure it is different now but I can't honestly give them anything but one out of five stars. At the time it was the worst Battlefield Visitors Center I have...

We enjoyed hiking the area along with reading and visiting the monuments. I have hiked this area plenty of times over the years. I would like to mention that I was very disappointed with the customer service at the gift shop. Masks are mandated and occupancy is limited for the building. The lady running the shop was extremely rude to customers and did not let anyone without a mask enter. Many others, including myself, were not expecting this mandate since it is not mandated in the state of SC. We were refused entry of the shop and left the park shortly after hiking the trail. Will definitely hike again but WILL NOT be buying anything...

Happened to stop by on a Monday and unfortunately the visitors center was closed. I knew that in advance so it was not a surprise. I walked the loop around the battlefield and listened to a podcast about the battle. It was very peaceful and there were plenty of signs and markers designating important locations. Even when closed the park had a steady flow of people walking and even a few people having picnics. I hope to make it back to see the exhibits in the visitors center.

Great park that we found on our way from Charlotte, NC. Incredibly friendly rangers, especially Lamar! The walk around the area is beautiful and is accompanied by markers with information about the battle as well as an audio tour if you're inclined to use your cell phone to play the audio portion. Really looking forward to coming back!
