Completely awesome! If you are crazy about aircraft -- and even if you're not -- this is a must-see cool and very interesting place. The folks here are so knowledgeable about planes, engines, light aircraft, historic aircraft, and so much more, it makes you smarter just to listen. Climbing into some larger old aircraft was eye-opening as in, it sure was different in the earlier days of flying. Lots to see here, and 'Fly-Ins' are scheduled each quarter. Check the website for dates. If you're lucky, and you plan ahead, you could take a ride ($$) in a beautifully restored biplane. An amazing opportunity...
Read moreA quaint museum located adjacent to the MD1 grass strip aerodrome. Volunteers are happy to provide stories and background information on all of the artifacts and displays. They have some restored piston and gas turbine engines, as well as several unique flying aircraft stored in hangars. It was a nice escape from the hustle of the city, and a looking glass back into the early days of aviation. Admission is free, but they deserve a donation in the box...
Read moreGreat museum that's off the beaten path. Two hangers full of operational aircraft that you can explore. Three aircraft on display outside, an F4 Corsair, an AN-2 Colt, and a DC-3. The AN-2 and the DC-3 are open to explore. The DC-3 is still mostly in its airliner outfitting and that's rare to see among the common C-47s.
