My walking buddy saw the bike closing in on me from behind before I did and grabbed me out of the way but I got clipped anyways from behind he didn't look back,It's not that difficult people, Parents should be aware of there children and themselves, my guess is everyone had the same idea at the Same time. Read moreI walk the trail most days. It's well-maintained and feels safe because it is wide open to the surrounding landscape. There are a lot of choices for navigating the trail- bike, scooter, roller blades, skateboard, etc. All ages are seen enjoying exercise on the trail. There are a lot of dogs being walked by owners but you rarely see any feces. Seems most people are good about cleaning up after their pet. Read moreWe enjoy walking this trail for exercise and relaxation. Other folks bike, skate, or jog/run the trail. It has some traffic lights with safe crossroads at either end. You can walk to/from Snohomish and Machias.
You can also access the river for wading, swimming, or floating (but be sure to check the conditions for safety).
Port-a-potty only (near parking lot). And be sure to pack it in and pack it out if you bring food, swim gear, or other supplies to keep it clean and safe...
