šŸŽ„šŸŽāœØKicking off our holiday shopping at Day 2 of Making Local Markets at Lord Hill Farms in #Snohomish #shoplocal #smallbusinesssaturday #shopsmall

Lord Hill Farms took our breath away when we first toured it. We had been looking for an indoor space that could accommodate a ceremony and a reception for approximately 120 people for our early March wedding, and this venue hit every mark. We were nervous initially about having a ceremony taking place up some steep stairs (concerning older family members), but they had a neat little elevator tucked in the back for those who needed it. We planned our wedding eleven months in advance of the wedding day, but the date that we originally wanted was booked. We decided that we loved their venue so much that we compromised on that detail. After working with them through all of the details (there are a lot of them!), we can see why so many people choose LHF as their wedding/event venue. The staff were very professional and helpful with any and all questions that we had. They were very accommodating and flexible when it came down to small details that got changed at the last moment. On the big day, everything was handled by them including the catering (in-house), set up, bar, and florals. We didn’t have to think about anything other than getting married and having fun! We were extremely impressed with the quality of the food; we even had some known picky eaters complimenting how good everything was. We used their in-house floral services and were very happy with what we ended up with. The only thing missing from LHF is a day-of coordinator; there is so much going on that it is almost a necessity to have one! Overall, we would recommend this venue to everyone!

We love Lord hill farms! They always throw the best company picnics here and accommodate any request our company asks. From designing a mud run obstacle course to zip lining, laser tag, blow up castles, petting zoo's... you name it, they will figure out a way to do it! The catered food is delicious and there is always ample seating. Highly recommend if you are looking to throw any event big or small. The grounds are gorgeous overlooking Snohomish farmland and there is parking onsite with staff directing you in and out. Other attractions worth mentioning are the golf range, pond with paddle boats and huge slip n' slide that takes up a whole hill side. Our kids love it and can't wait to go back year after year. 😁

Bad, Cheap Quality Food. We just had the company picnic at LHF, which has been at LHF for a few years now. Every year the food gets worse and worse and the choices are more limited. The "Philadelphia Cheese Steak" sandwiches were NOT Philly cheese steaks. One insipid slice of processed cheese, and chopped up,unseasoned meat of some kind, mixed in with onions and the occasional green pepper. A true cheese steak sandwich has long slices of real beef, lots of cheese and grilled onions, and you can add on other condiments from there. Took one small mouthful of the beef and tossed it. The "Warm Churros" were premade, and rock hard. They were inedible. None of us could eat more than a small bite they were that hard and dried out, and certainly not warm anymore by the time you waited 15 minutes in the line. The "Fresh Sliced Apples with Caramel Sauce" were not freshly sliced, and were treated with preservatives (so they never browned, but tasted funny). The "Caramel Sauce" was mostly water and had almost no flavor. It was not a sauce, you could not dip your apple into it even if you wanted to eat the chemically treated apple, and it also was tossed by everyone. No wonder there was no line to get these. The "Watermelon" were tiny, thin wedges. Seriously, they were triangles that were about three inches on each side and they were barely a half inch thick. Ridiculous. The fried cookie dough looked burned, and lots of them were being left on tables uneaten, so we didn't bother trying them. The "hand dipped corn dogs" looked ok, but then they started to look raggedy, with empty spots where the corn mix didn't stick but they cooked them anyway, and they soon were mostly burned. Passed. The "Corn on the Cob" looked promising at first, as they were grilling it, but they soon stopped doing that for no apparent reason. The corn we got was way overcooked and soaked in "butter" that wasn't actually butter. We could only eat a bit of ours. There were no true desserts offered like in years past. No cookies, no cakes or brownies, no fruit, no strawberry shortcake, no ice cream of any kind. Just cotton candy and shaved ice, so the lines for these were impossibly long and we had to pass. in the past, the dessert plates were the best thing offered, as they were not made in-house, but there was nothing this time. There was no actual barbecued ribs or meats of any kind. This was the best choice for a main meal item in years past, along with baked beans and corn bread and potato salad. None of those this year. Very disappointing that this was eliminated. Also, the couple of salad items were no longer in a buffet line, and you had to wait in a line to ask for them to be served on a plate. This made it very tedious to try and get a balanced plate of food, as you had to wait in line for the hamburgers/hot dogs, then wait in line for the salad, then leave and go across the field to the french fry tent to wait in line there. And that line was VERY long as the fries were the only really good food on offer. I will recommend that my company not return to LHF again. We need to go back to the venue under Mt Si, where the food was much better, there were a lot more options and the lines were much shorter. The activities were also a lot better than at LHF, and there was a lot more for the slightly older kids (8-18+) to do there, and the adult activities were actually a lot of fun (real jousting, etc.). If the company picnic is going to be at LHF again next year, we won't bother going. There's just nothing much to do and the food...

As I finally calmed down from my experience at LHF, I thought it was time to write my review. My wedding was scheduled for Feb 20,21 at LHF. We had given our first half of the deposit to hold our date.

In July 2020, they asked for the second half of the deposit as my wedding was 6 months out (not really it was 7). THIS is where it went downhill. I gave their deposit and then asked what their CURRENT weddings look like, because we are in the middle of a global pandemic. My France’s and I had a goal, that no matter what we were going to get married, so I was just trying to learn what a new COVID wedding would look like with LHF. The response I got from them summed up was ā€œWe’re not worrying about you, ask us in Octoberā€. This is when I should have just cancelled with them….Flash forward to October, finally get into contact with them. They tell me their current restrictions, and still seems like a viable and fun option for our wedding. It was not until I started asking questions that they gave me a phone call to discuss everything. This phone call, pretty much summed up that we would pay full price for a wedding that would need to end after 3 hours (including the ceremony). We were crushed to say the least, I was nice over the phone with them, because it’s a pandemic and it not fully being their fault.

HOWEVER, we decided to cancel our ā€œlargeā€ ceremony to have a ā€œmini-moneyā€ and cancel with LHF. As we inquired about receiving our second half of our deposit, understanding and being considerate that the first part was a retainer for our date. Not to mention we had a TOTAL of 3 emails from them between booking in January 2020 to July 2020. This is when the management became very aggressive, rude and refused to give us any of our money back because of the ā€œcontractā€. Even though they were not providing the contracted amount of services. My finance’s Aunt called as she has worked with LHF for her daughters wedding and they hung up on her after saying they refused to give us our deposit back because ā€œwe are strugglingā€. They have zero respect for their current or past clients, and simply only care about the revenue of their venue.

I want to tell you, that there are WAY better venue’s to work with. We our now at a new venue who under their contract states all deposits will be refunded if government mandates change due to COVID. Money aspect aside, this new venue is: More organized in what to expect for our wedding Greater communication between myself and the venue Flexibility during a global pandemic.

Long story short, LHF is beautiful but not worth the unprofessional nature of their staff. Due yourself a favor and find...

Lord Hill Farms was where we decided to have our wedding. I was very upset as a bride going with this venue. It was amazing at first but then the restrictions and rude behavior came into play with the high prices of every item of the venue and food. I was not impressed with the rude behavior from the staff and was lied to regarding many matters of the rental of the venue. For how much money you spend, it is not worth the hassle to have this venue. The have so many restrictions to using the venue. I was told the flowers would be in full bloom when our wedding was going to happen and there were not most of them were dead. You could easily spend your money else where and have a better price as well as having a better staff.

Another review from my brother in law. I have to say it is a beautiful place and that the first half of their Wedding went well. As the evening progressed dancing and festivities were welcomed, entertaining, fun. Around 9:30 pm few guests were trickeling out the door as expected. Now between dancing and great conversations we would go outside to cool off a bit enjoying the fresh Air. Now it was 10:05 pm still having a good time and the Manager said Last call for alcohol. So we made our way in still continuing our conversation at hand. The Manager served two people beer then quickly disconnected the keg. The time was now 10:12 pm. My Brother and guests were not impressed with the rude behavior from the manager and staff. I was holding my 17 month old daughter observing all of the staff behind the bar and how rude they were being. The money they spent and the time block was till midnight however due to staff wanting to leave early including the manager. (she left the premesis at 10:45 pm) rethink your Wedding venue before you spend too much money here for inadequate service from very rude and selfish staff. I was a designated driver so I had not been drinking but was able to observe...
