The Boardwalk — Attraction in Sodus Township

The Boardwalk was an absolutely dreamy venue for our August wedding. We got compliments all night (and still do) about how cool the venue was. The bridal dome is unlike anything we had seen before and truly made the most beautiful setting for getting ready and pictures. The ceremony in front of the water was an absolute dream, and it ended up raining during our reception, but we didn’t even notice! The entire venue is so beautiful that when our DJ and dance floor were under the tent we didn’t even realize that we had planned for it to be outside!

I could go on for HOURS about how amazing Madison (venue coordinator) was throughout our entire planning process as well as day of. From our very first time visiting, we felt like she was a close friend. She was so personal and kind, and a huge part of why we picked this venue. There were so many details we never would’ve thought of were it not for her. On our wedding day Madison went above and beyond. From helping set up, take down, and keep things organized, to putting my veil on when we forgot about it, and even helping me reapply anti-chafe stick while my dress was being bustled. There is bound to be issues on any big event day and she handled them so well. Between family and vendors, she was the perfect amount of bossy and kind. Even if it took a little bit of threatening to sing opera, she got everyone to cooperate, which also took the heat off of me! She constantly reminded us to be in the moment and that I was a bride and we were now married! I am so beyond grateful for her. Matt was also great during the entire planning process, I never felt out of the loop or like communication was lacking from anyone at the venue. They were truly so kind and I cannot recommend this...

I can’t say enough good things about The Boardwalk! This venue is a solid 5 stars! Set on a stunning 5-acre waterfront property along the St. Joseph River, the natural beauty of the lush forest and serene river views created an unforgettable backdrop for our wedding. The Boardwalk’s versatility and charm made our day absolutely perfect for our beach themed wedding!

Matt and Kathryn, the owners, were beyond amazing—warm, attentive, and dedicated to making every detail perfect. Our coordinator Madison bent over backwards to make sure everything went according to plan! They seamlessly coordinated with our vendors and ensured our personalized touches, like our music and pet-friendly moments, came together flawlessly. The venue’s amenities, including tables, chairs, linens, and a coordinator, made planning a breeze. Also, the Bridal Dome and Forest Lounge for the groom were luxurious spots for getting ready.

What set this venue apart was the incredible flexibility they offered to make our day truly ours. They allowed us to fully customize the event, letting us bring in a bounce house that kept the kids (and adults!) entertained, a spectacular fireworks display coordinated by Matt and the father of the bride to cap off the night, helped pass out Hawaiian leis to our guests, and even our beloved dog as part of the ceremony, which meant the world to us.

Our guests are still talking about the bounce house, fireworks, and our dog stealing the show! If you want a venue that combines breathtaking scenery, endless customization, and heartfelt hospitality, The Boardwalk is the dream choice. It made our wedding day uniquely ours and absolutely...

My husband and I hosted our wedding reception at The Boardwalk this year! Months later, we are still receiving compliments about how wonderful everything was. This team executed the night perfectly and no details were missed.

We would also like to compliment Madison for working with us to execute our visions leading up to the wedding day. As for the day of, we were highly impressed with the way she helped orchestrate our bridal party during photos and walk outs. Our group was rowdy and she corralled them so well! The entire night Madison also went out of her way catering to every need. Before my husband or I had the chance to ask Madison for anything, she was already there asking us what we needed before we knew ourselves.
