I had dined here a few times and thought they were ok. Now I'm Portuguese and very familiar with the cuisine just so you know to better understand my issue with this place. I had ordered 2 trays of food for pick-up on Mother's day. A chicken dish and a pork dish. I placed the order 3 days before Mother's day and they took my phone number when I placed the order. I arrive to pick-up my order about 30 minutes late. I give my name to one of the girls behind the bar and she immediately whispers something to another girl. The other girl rings me up and the cost is almost double what I was expecting. I pay and then look at my receipt and see that one my orders had been replaced by nothing else but the most expense dish on the menu. I bring this to their attention and they tell me that there must have been an error. Then she proceeds to tell me that they can't provide the original dish I ordered because they have a modified menu being Mother's Day. So I asked, so you just replace that dish with the most expensive dish on your menu without contacting me. She tells me that its not the most expensive dish. This is why I said I'm Portuguese. I'm very familiar with the menu and cost. I tell her that. Then she decides to give me credit for half of the dish they decided on for me. She tells me that if I want them to do my original ordered dish, I'll have to wait 20 minutes for it. I asked why would you not call the customer if you could not fill the order as requested. After all, you do have my phone number. Its printed on the receipt. A manager comes over and I tell him that this is the worst customer service I have ever had anywhere. Long story short, I ended waiting 40 minutes for my half right order. I was livid. Had it not been Mother's Day, I would have walked out. I could not believe the bullshit they were giving me and how they tried to trick me as if I had forgotten what I had ordered. Oh the funny part was that she kept on saying that she would find out who was the person that took the order because they messed up, etc. Well, that was the other girl. I recognized the accent right away. I'm still in disbelief. I had been planning on having my daughter's family sweet 16 dinner there. That's no longer the plan. I have never experienced such a deceptive experience in...
Read moreI have been going to Rice's Market for about 20 years. It was always a fun place to visit and look forward to having a fun day out. Unfortunately, the last few times I visited, there was about one quarter of the amount of vendors. The place looked so empty and sad. I own a small business and reserved a table a few Saturdays ago, being Rice's was one of my favorite flea markets and it was very disappointing. The cost to rent a table is $30 per day which is three times as much as other flea markets. I have beautiful merchandise which I sell at a very affordable price but I would need to sell 6 items to just cover the cost of the table. There wasn't much traffic throughout the flea market and I ended up only selling 12 items total. It's isn't worth the money or the amount of work for that amount of business. I believe you have lost vendors due to your rentals not being comparable to other flea market prices. The loss of vendors has lost the interest of people visiting your market. I have sold at other flea markets and done extremely well, the table costs $10 per day, and there are so many people that they do not even have enough parking (and it's free to park). Just my thoughts, but I believe if you adjust your pricing, you would bring in more vendors which in turn would bring more customers back. I would love to be a consistent vendor at your place because of the fond memories I have there and overall I do love Rice's the most out of the other flea markets. It is sad how down hill it has gone. I remember the days it was packed with vendors and customers. It was hard to even walk through all the people. I would love to see Rice's...
Read moreRices Markets, located just outside of New Hope, is a treasure trove of unique finds and eclectic shopping experiences. As a frequent visitor over the years, I have come to love the diverse range of vendors that can be found at this historic market. One of my personal favorites is Periodical Services, which offers an amazing selection of calendars, figurines, collectibles and home decor. What many people don't know is that Rices Markets has a rich history that dates back to the spring of 1860 when Mr. A.L. Rice settled in Solebury Township, Pennsylvania. Mr. Rice auctioned his own products as well as those of his neighbors and word of his success spread quickly. Soon, farmers from all over started to bring their cattle and farm goods to Mr. Rice to offer for sale. By the 1950s, a market was added and Rice’s began to quickly grow to over 400 vendors from throughout the Northeast! Today, Rice's Market is the oldest and largest outdoor market in Bucks County. As you wander through the market, it's hard not to notice the amazing assortment of antiques and home goods, making it the perfect destination for anyone looking to discover treasures from times past. Whether you're searching for collector's items, heirlooms, period pieces, or more, there is something for everyone. And the best part? Everything is priced to sell, making Rice's Market a true bargain hunter's paradise. Rices Market is a must-visit destination for anyone in the area looking for a unique and fun shopping experience.
