This was a very nice find. The farm was not too big, but not too small. There are tractor hayrides that take you to the Apple picking location. It is a nice three minute ride. Apples were very fresh and abundant. We stuck with the piñata apples. They were so sweet. We missed the honey crisp. There were handwashing stations. Outside bathrooms. We picked up their apple cider and also their donuts. There was a fresh batch that came out and we decided to try it. We sat by a bench outside And enjoyed some freshly baked donuts that were still warm. It was nice weather during sunset. There were a lot of parking spot when we arrived. The road getting up there might be a bit tight when it comes to turning radius, especially for a bigger SUVs and minivans. Take it slow and leave plenty of space for others to make a turn. Staff was polite and overall very cheerful. There is a $2.50 registration fee. You book online fortimes slots. We thought we could book last minute during a Sunday afternoon. But the slots actually sell out pretty quick. You pay per pound for the apples. Overall, our first time Apple, picking as a family was a success. Definitely...
Read moreVisited on a Sunday and had a wonderful experience! We made online reservations for just $2.50 per person, and check-in was quick and easy thanks to the clearly marked signs. After checking in, we received reusable bags for our apples and waited less than five minutes for the tractor and wagon ride—a short, scenic 4-minute trip out to the orchard.
The rows of apple trees were well organized, with signs indicating which apples were ready for picking and which were not yet ripe. A helpful tip we found was to walk further down the rows, where trees had plenty of apples that hadn’t been picked over. Staff also recommended not eating apples in the field, as bees can land on them.
After filling our bags, the wagon brought us back to the main area. We paid for our apples and couldn’t resist grabbing iced apple ciders (absolutely delicious), caramel apples, and apple donuts—all incredible treats.
Overall, it was a fantastic first visit, and we’ll definitely be returning—likely again...
Read moreAs far as Apple picking goes this farm is pretty standard. The info tent was run by a teen who failed to mention that there was a difference in the types of apples picked if you walked to the field vs if you took the tractor ride. Other than the lack of initial direction everything was great. The tractor ride was fun and apple picking went quickly. The cider donuts and Apple cider at the market were so good! Edit: this review was from the 2020 picking season. During the 2020 picking season, there were many visitors to the farm who were spending the entire day there without purchasing anything. For the 2021 season, solebury orchard is requiring weekend visitors to make reservations and pay an entry fee. This is in response to the free loaders from previous seasons. If you would like to pick apples without an entrance fee, then go on Thursday or Friday evening. People need to remember that this is their livelihood and not a free place to hangout at on...
