CRŪ Winery — Attraction in Soledad

This beautiful cozy winery and grounds offers a very nice experience for any level of wine tasting. We heard about it through the grapevine, pardon the pun, and I would say that I cannot wait to get back. As you can see from the photos there are plenty of features and places to hang out and just have a great time overlooking the Salinas valley and the mountains beyond. There is a wide selection of quality smooth wine that is great on its own or with food. My favorite was a 2021 oaked Chardonnay that was liquid Gold. I highly recommend the drive out to Soledad and experience this one-of-a-kind gem. Enjoy! We decided to come back and visit again and this time we were greeted by Tom Hall who was very knowledgeable and gave us the origin story of the wine maker. This is a beautiful winery to visit. The staff is extremely friendly! I started with a flight; after tasting my first wine, I knew that was going to be the one I wanted. I ended up getting a glass of Jose's Rose instead of proceeding with the flight.

The outside area is beautiful! You have a fantastic view. You're allowed to walk through the vineyards, which are located in the back area. It wasn't too crowded when we went, which improved our experience.

After sipping on the Jose Rose wine l, I decided to purchase a bottle. I'm more than likely going to continue ordering this bottle. The taste is amazing! Soledad wineries tend to be overlooked, but I highly recommend you stop by CRU Winery for a fantastic experience! It's a great spot if you're looking to relax and enjoy wine...

Nice experience, decent wines, great location. It was very nice to be able to show up to a place that isn't crowded and doesn't requite reservations, and our pourer was very knowledgeable and seemed pretty passionate about wine (he also gave pretty generous pours!) It's interesting that you can try multiple varietals and even locations/AVA -- we had chardonnay from the Paraiso vineyard right there, SLH pinot from nearby, but also ones from Santa Maria and Paso Robles.
