Went on the 4th of July. It was super busy as you can imagine. Tons of families (predominately Latino). I was a little irritated by the soccer "futbol" game across our picnic area. Given we were charged $25, I think the park workers should have enforced some rules. Why should I have to duck or be mindful of a ball coming at me when I am at a picnic?

There is a small beach area near the picnic area (10ft X 10ft lots). Initially, we shared the area with a single women and her small child. It was peaceful. However, an hour later, 5 more children (same "familia") were literally running on our beach blanket, wet sand, water and all. Mother watching it all unfold. It is almost as if we weren't even there. I guess some folks have no sense of personal space (even post pandemic).

Well, I can promise you one thing St. Mary's County, you will never get my $25...

Went on the forth of July. They charged me $25 for non residents. Worst experience ever. As soon as I got of the car mosquitos bit me. The whole time we were there mosquitos attacked us. Make sure you take deet nothing else will help. I know for sure not to go there again. Not worth it. Watch out for insects, lots of spiders and caterpillars on the picnic tables. There's only like 4 charcoal grill that I could see and maybe 6 Tables. Some Dogs were unleashed. It's a hike to the beach and trails are rocky. The beach area was okay. Lots of little small fish for kids to catch for fun. Not much shells to find but lots of seaweed in the water. Steady water not too much waves. I recommend Elm's Beach. It's cleaner and has a kids playground, changing area. Great...

Not the best experience here! We were going to stop here on memorial day, but they were charging $25 per vehicle (out of state) for the holiday, but it's free during the week. So we went the next day for free.

But it turned out to not be so great - it wasn't too well maintained in certain areas, the paths were rocky, and it was filled with mosquitoes!! We were there for only 10 minutes and got attacked by mosquitoes and left.

I won't rate it much lower than 3 stars because we didn't really have a full experience of the place. But based on what we experienced, it...

$25 out of county fee, cash only, seemed a little steep. small picnic area, Porto pottys that did not seem like they are emptied daily. main beach looks nice and not too far if packing light, but we had too much junk to carry down the trail with food and kids. Probably better to picnic near cars and walk out to enjoy beach with less gear. Grabbed one of the sandy spots closer in and enjoyed swimming until swarmed by many stinging jelly fish ranging from the size of a tomato to a football. Half the people in our group were stung
