My last name is Meckley and to this day I don't know if I'm related to the family that operates this farm. I'm from the Finger Lakes Region of NYS, and I planned an excursion to MI and WI in the beginning of November. I googled popular attractions in MI and this place popped up so having that last name connection I figured I had to stop in. Overall I'd say I return because the scenery and landscape was nice in a small town. The bakery had a good selection and the wines and ciders were good too. The blueberry cider was my favorite cider and the spiced haven & honey was my favorite wine. I wish they would ship so I could get it sent to my house. The place had some Weimaraner dogs strolling the premises, which was nice because I'm a dog lover. The only knock I'm going to give this place is the lack of hospitality by the server I had in the tasting room. She was a brunette in her early 20s and wore a baseball cap. My friend and I were trying to make conversation with her but she was more fixated on the locals of MI after we told her we were from NY. I work at a winery in the Finger Lakes Region so we're known for our wine and hospitality. So in all honesty I was a bit disgusted with her lack of hospitality. I always build a connection/bond with the people I pour wine for by making small talk with them i.e. asking them where there from. I got nothing from her, but she was chatting it up with others. She didn't receive a tip from me nor my friend because she merely just poured wine/cider and walked away, not worthy of a...
Read moreA great place to take your family. I hadn't been there in a few years and they've added numerous flavors of Hard Cider and several types of wine 🍷, including blueberry wine and ice wine. Their bakery is awesome as always and they still had fresh cinnamon doughnuts when we arrived around 2:45 PM on a Friday. They also have lots of other baked goodies and we brought their apple dumplings 🥟 home to enjoy. They still have a corn maze 🌽 and there're several fun games to play for free spread over the area by the large tent ⛺. They have a festival each weekend starting the first weekend of September and running through the last weekend in October. These include food trucks, live music, hay rides, the corn 🌽 maze and more. All the festival attractions are available for $15 per person, but you don't need to buy a ticket 🎫 to just walk around. They've also added a wine 🍷 and hard cider tasting room with a beautiful outdoor deck to enjoy your drinks on. The tasting room is upstairs from the bakery 🥯. Of course you can buy their apples 🍎 🍏 fresh from the tree and they still had a good selection of pumpkins 🎃 and gords when we were there on 10/6/23 We had a good time and I believe...
Read moreThis is a local place to us and we go several times a year. But, I agree with the other reviews, unfortunately. The new pay one price of $15 to enjoy everything is definitely not worth it. Such a sad thing to see a local place become so commercialized. And my biggest gripe… please, get some extensive training for your employees on what good customer service is. On how to put on a fake smile and greet someone! As someone who has been coming here for years and years, I always leave feeling like this is the rudest bunch of employees I’ve ever encountered. Not a smile or hello from a single soul from ordering donuts, to getting cider from the barn or going upstairs to order drinks. The last time I went wasn’t even busy, during the week, and everyone acted like they hated being there. Can you confirm or deny whether or not several of your employees experience social anxiety? This is the only explanation I can come up with for how rude they are. I even said hello and smiled to one of them and got nothing in return. It’s just really strange that this hasn’t been figured out after this business being around...
