WARNING ‼️ 🐝 GIANT BALD HEADED HORNET NEST WAIST LEVEL TO TRAIL!!!

My fiancée and i along with our 9 month old decided to try out a new trail as we hike all the time. We prked at the main parking area and walked all the way to thw balancing rock. The trail was moderate and not too buggy and the rock was cool. We started to head towards the falls and about 10 minutes from the balancing rock down the trail there was an enormous no exaggeration bald headed wasp nest they weren’t happy we were approaching and we immediately turned around when seeing it. It is eight on the trail waist level hanging from a tree. It could have been really bad if we weren’t paying attention. Definitely watch out and avoid at all cost. They were not happy. We were to scared to stop for a photo as we had our son. Besides that from what we did walk it was...

So, this is just a trailhead with connectors to multiple trails. There is parking for one or two cars at this entrance. While walking, I did find a trail head with more parking (not sure where yet)

These are some of the most beautiful and well marked trails I have ever seen. It is an easy hike with plenty of trails to explore.

Also, in one of the photos is my new buddy piper! She will be tagging along and helping me find some outdoor adventures to share with all of you.

Really gorgeous there today. Bring bug spray. It's true some trails are really poorly marked but we had cell signal throughout our 2-hour visit and it wasn't difficult to find our way around even the questionable paths. We went to the falls, then the rock, then the bump. We saw only 2 other people the entire time on a beautiful fall Saturday. Nothing at all technical here, just some uphills but they are not sustained. I'm more of a nature walker than a hiker and it was a perfect...

Main trail is well marked but there are lots of game trails and side trails that we got turned around in. Sometimes getting lost is fun though and it was a nice change from the beach scene. Much cooler in the woods. Bugs weren't bad. This time of season the waterfall was more of a trickle but hey its end of summer.

Great place for a nature walk/hike. Difficulty: medium. Take the trail to the right, at the fork, if you want a more direct path to the falls. Also, please be wary of wildlife that inhabit this area. The trail to the left brings you to the Littlefield Homestead.
