Deep Water Vineyard was the first vineyard I went to and now having been to nearly 15 other vineyards in Napa Valley and Fredericksburg TX, I can say with confidence that it is by far the best vineyard I have been to since. Story time...
My girlfriend and I just finished a trip to Napa and were shocked to realize just how much better the Deep Water experience was to any of these nationally recognized vineyards. We were in disbelief that a simple wine tasting was on average $60-$80 with reservations required weeks in advance. Not to mention that not a single of the 10 or so vineyards we visited were able to serve wine by the glass (apparently its a Napa thing but still frustrating) or even allow us on the premise without a reservation. The more places we went to, the more we found ourselves nostalgically thinking about how for $10, we were able to get a personal tasting of some absolutely delicious wines with a simple menu to take home, a chance to try the newest wines and meads on the shelf for the season, a complimentary wine glass, and a punch to the punch card. From memorable wine, consistent events, food trucks, live music, games, farm animals, and personable staff, Deep Water Vineyard made Napa feel like an overpriced joke. Deep Water Vineyard is a must when...
Read moreThe property is gorgeous, the wine is great but the staff not so much. Our group of 6 booked a 12:30 to 1:30 wine tasting. The wines were great but we felt extremely rushed.
In addition to feeling rushed we were told to leave as the staff member stated "I need you leave" at 1:32. The staff member stated there was another group coming. Our group was only two minutes past the "time slot". I felt this was inappropriate. I also felt as though there are much better ways of excusing a group of guests, perhaps by inviting them to sit on the porch, walk the vineyards or visit Ida Claire.
Management or staff should spread the wine tastings further apart or relay the message to guests in a nicer demeanor.
Additionally, the staff member was uninformed as to the pre-payment. The staff member informed the primary guest in front of the entire group that only 5 people were paid for to drink. However, I checked my receipt and this is not the case. I informed this staff member of her error.
I will buy the wine as it was delicious but I will not do a private...
Read moreWhat an amazing time and place!!! Huge shout out to Adam and Mitchell for giving us the VIP treatment just because. I have been wanting to try mead for the longest and finally got the chance and then some! They were throwing a great little mead-ivel festival with jousting, live music, a market and of course a ton of different meads to try. Unfortunately we got there pretty late and almost missed out on trying the non carbonated meads. In steps Wine Club Liason Adam to save the day! We got to try a bit of everything and they were all great in their own way. Literally every bottle was a winner. You can't go wrong! Adam then introduced us to Meadmaker Mitchell who was warm and welcoming and has one of the coolest tattoos I've ever seen! These guys made our experience far exceed our expectations. Deep Water Vineyard and Bears Bluff meadery are not to be missed! Not only will we definitely be back but hope to work out a collab in the...
