A group of 8 ladies from our dental office planned a "Ladies day out" at this winery. Upon arrival everything was set up nicely. We were charged an additional $2 per person, per our group size- we were okay with that. Our issue started once we noticed the tables on both sides of ours were recieving double pours (they have the 1oz measuring cap on thr bottles), while we were only recieving single pours with no offer to any additional pour. After the tasting our group decided to purchase two bottles to drink while there. While attempting to purchase said bottles, we were very rudely reminded that we had to pay for them. We were very aware we had to pay for the bottles and never disputed or questioned the price, but feel as if we were treated very unpoorly. There was another server there, who has a bottle of wine named after her, and she is who I would recommend if you are interested in going. Although she was not assisting our party, she was very friendly. I would not recommend this place to anyone. As Ieft this review on their facebook page, a response was given that sometimes the pour mechanisms do not pour as they should so that is why it "appeared" the opposing tables received more wine per glass. I am a former bartender and I am familiar with those mechanisms- they don't malfunction at...
Read moreNot the best. First time visiting here, but often attend wine tastings. Arrived and discovered no tasting due to live music event. Would have still bought a few bottles if I was allowed to sample, but was limited to 2 samples and told by an employee that we needed to hurry and make a decision because the line needed to keep moving. After the drive I still purchased a bottle, but almost didn't... I really didn't appreciate being asked to hurry when I had waited patiently for well over an hour to get inside myself and watched patrons before me take their time and not be rushed.
I enjoyed my experience at Mercer winery in Lexington, SC so much more and highly recommend you give them a visit.
I truly didn't feel appreciated or welcomed for taking the time to come and visit Enoree winery, in Newberry. In fact, up until l made it to counter, I was enjoying the music and the atmosphere. The 3 groups before me each spent about 10 minutes at the counter. After 2 minutes, I was told to hurry, but didn't hear it said to anyone before me.... Most likely l will not be returning as I was not treated with the same respect l watched...
Read moreWould have given a better review except I was scolded for smoking outside. Came 3.5 hours for the fall wine festival, enjoyed the music and festival. However there were no signs saying no smoking with in the festival. A Karen walked a distance to tell me it is a non smoking venue. Which is out in a open field. Karen went and got an employee who told me smoking was not allowed. Here is the only sign posted in the festival area, which said employee is holding, which states not to leave cigarette butts, which is obvious to me. Another sign posted at the entrance is pictured. If you enjoy sweet wine you will be quite pleased. Just don’t smoke lol
In response to the owner: I didn’t call your employee Karen, if you reread my review you will see that. Your employee was very nice. I was referring to the other woman who approached me. The second picture is at the entrance, I did not confuse the signs.
It was a lovely winery in any case. I did sample the red wines, and found them still on the sweet...
