I have been coming here since I was a kid. I have always enjoyed my experience. It is a wonderful place to bring children and dogs! In the summer everyone can hang out on the rocks and in the water. [ DO BE ADVISED THAT THE ROCKS ARE SLIPPERY FROM ALGAE. DO NOT LEAVE DOGS OR CHILDREN UNSUPERVISED THEY CAN FALL INTO THE RIVER! ] With that being said there is a nice trail to walk with everyone, plenty of area for picnics and pictures! I have seen a TON of people take absolutely astonishing wedding pictures here. There are NO RESTROOMS HERE, but there are plenty of shops and stores about five minutes down the road in Spartanburg City Eastside. Use the bathroom before you come! We came on a weekend visit and it was pretty empty, in the summer it is definitely busier but don't hesitate to visit this beautiful sight and learn about the history of...

It's a super nice area for walking and being next to water. The shoals are impressive and after a good rain storm they roar pretty good the day after. There is a lot of trash and more and more people are aware of this place. It has made it not nice to walk around and enjoy it as close to the pristine state it may have once been. There is a bridge and you can walk to the other side of the shoals and explore. The side with the old mill still looks nice and not as much trash on that side. All in all it's a nice place to sit and think and maybe have a picnic. Just make sure you clean...

This is a really neat spot to visit. It has several old buildings and large open spaces to walk around, but the highlight is the water area. There are several "waterfalls" and lots of shallow areas that you can walk through. Lots of rocks and interesting areas to explore. My son loved it. On a hot day, the cool water is perfect. I recommend wearing shoes with some grip on them if you decide to walk through the water; the rocks are a bit slippery. But this place is absolutely worth a visit...or multiple visits! Our family will make it a...

Super cool place to visit! The bridge over the dam is pretty, and you can walk on paths down to the rocks below. I thought it was awesome you can get down onto the rocks! Fishing seemed good as I could see fish swimming under the bridge. The old buildings were also really amazing! One is fenced off but I climbed in the open one. Finally, the abandoned house’s were also really fantastic! I loved this little gem of a spot. If you like adventure, this one satisfied my wondering spirit!
