Lake Cooley Park (Outdoor Education Center) — Attraction in South Carolina

There is 1 way in and out by car. It's not even June yet and there wasn't enough places to fish without crossing others lines. Imagine if windy. It said online piers, fishing and swimming, but on arrival the first 2 piers are posted no fishing/ swimming. And the further area is not handicap accessible. It also said, kayaks and paddle boats available to rent. But they aren't available until the end of May. The last negative was the bathroom. It was sooo disgusting. The sink area and toilets are not being cleaned i assume by the amount of mold and build up. There was feces all over the floor, bathroom stall wall and back side of door. So gross. But they did have bathrooms, they have covered seating areas and small grills and benches along...

I like this place and it's good to rent from. I've been here a couple of times but I accidentally left my water at home and didn't realize until I had unloaded my kayak. I went to the drink machine but everything was sold out so I asked the young men and women if they sold anything and they didn't. Since I was alone and didn't want to load my kayak back up and didn't want to leave it there I went kayaking for a short while. I had someone offer to bring me drink but it was 30+ minutes away. By the time I got back I was extremely thirsty and had to load everything back up in 90° heat before driving a long way to a store. For a place that rents all kinds of sporting equipment and activities, some type of hydration should be available...

Decent fishing. However, EVERYONE needs to clean up after themselves. There are rentals 2 docks and a place to drop your boat, a few grills and tiny covered areas with picnic tables. There is NO SWIMMING! Which is common sense if your not dumb as a box of rocks. Snakes (mostly members of the pit viper family) and Snapping Turtles are in the water.
