I went to this state park mainly because it was added to the SC State Park system after i completed my Ultimate Outsiders status when there were only 47 such parks. This is the 48th. The grounds are lovely, but seems that it's relatively small in size. Not much to do except to chill out and enjoy the immaculate view of the Arthur Ravenel bridge connecting Charleston and Mount Pleasant. It really is worth the view. Super nice ranger house too. It's the one in the pics.

This is a wonderful acquisition by SC state parks. It's already a beautiful place and a wonderful day trip destination, but the plans for it are awesome. Check times because as of this review it is only open Monday through Friday during the "soft opening." If you can visit, pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the views of Charleston!

We were visiting James Island and wanted to visit the Sisters of Charity only to find out it is now a state park. We met 2 amazingly kind and friendly volunteers. They encouraged us to go around the house for the views. Delightfully beautiful!!

Don't be put off by the 1-star review. This is a jewel in the state park system, and we are so fortunate the state moved quickly to purchase this land when it became available. The park is only months old and will eventually be open on weekends. For now, it is open M-F (as was clearly stated on its website and in the local newspapers) and offers spectacular views in a pristine location. Thank you to our state legislators for prioritizing acquisition of this parcel of land for the people of...

Not much room to roam, but if you are looking for a great spot to watch a sunrise or one of the best views you could ask for of the Arthur Ravenel (Jr) Bridge, then this is your spot.

Screened in porch, benches and a swing (bench) along the sea wall. Also two sets of steps if you want to get into the marsh. When I was there last, place was teeming with butterflies- Gulf Fritillaries, Cloudless Sulfurs and even some Black...
