I am on vacation and had a small window of time to meet a friend to play a round of 9 during some rain, tee time 4:10pm. We probably teed off closer to 4:30pm and cut it close on arrival, but there was nobody else playing on the course behind us. We both expressed we haven't played in over 5 years and are 42 years old with injuries. We didn't gain our rhythm until after the third hole, and when we arrived at hole 5 an employee arrived on his cart, insulted us and tried to have us stop play at approximately 5:45pm. He said if we keep hitting 8 strokes we'll never finish and interrupted 15 minutes of our play time. He then "allowed" us to play holes 5 and 9 with the cart or walk it out, and said if his "boss" was there they would have made us quit right there and leave. We played hole 5, skipped 6, and he showed up at hole 7 to take the cart wasting another 10-15 mins of unloading our stuff. The two of us proceeded to carry our cooler, bookbag and two golf bags thru hole 7, then decided since we paid for 9 to walk back to 6 and played that and luckilyfound one of our clubs sitting there. We then finished walking and playing thru hole 9. Hands down worst golfing experience of our lives, but we've been friends since kindergarten and kept going. My friend that has lived here for 20 years is disgusted, and I will never play at this course again on future vacations. No tip given and will be requesting a refund. ADDED: next morning spoke to manager Matt a gentleman and very understanding. He refunded our round apologized and made up for damaged clothing and called my friend to apologize too.. Because of this and us playing thru, I am bumping up score to four stars. Thanks you Matt...
Read moreOur band of 8 play these courses the most during year. 25 times last year all 3 combined. Very convenient considering all 3 course have a different degree of difficulty. West Course is probably the driest course in MB. We play West especially after normal rain. We will be riding carts when most others are CPO. Easiest of the 3. I'd rate this course a 1 to 2 ball course for the average hack. The South course has a bit more twist and turns but it also isn't real difficult. It gets quite a bit wetter than the West or North course. I'd also rate this a 1to 2 ball course for the average hack. The crown jewel for MBN is the North course. AKA "King's North". This course is a bit more complicated. Has more hazards available, and the Gem hole here is "The Gambler". This par 5 gives you options that you may not want... Hit out to the island approx. 170 out and you'll still have a 150~170 yard shot to a narrow green sandwiched with water. Yikes! Take to the right for the long way home. Possible par but expect a bogey barring you don't put one in the drink. Probably about a 3 ball hole for the AH.
All and all a great venue for a variety of golf all in one facility. Staff is friendly and the beers are cold... what else...
Read moreGreat course, but staff ruins the experience
The course itself is great, but the staff is absolutely horrible—from the pro shop, to the kitchen, to the starter.
Pro Shop: Nothing but attitude. They act like the customer doesn’t matter. No appreciation, no “thank you” for paying $150+ for a round. Just cold and dismissive.
Kitchen: The guy cooking had a chip on his shoulder and treated everyone like an inconvenience. Honestly, he seems like he hates being there and belongs in a different industry.
Starter: The older gentleman was the worst of the bunch. He sat on his chair, acted annoyed when asked a simple question, and gave wise remarks. Calling me—a grown man—a “kid” was flat-out disrespectful. Save that for your grandkids. He’s lucky I didn’t go off right then and there.
Bottom line: They’re not here for the customer or the golfer—they’re just here to take your money. With so many other courses around, I’ll spend my time and money elsewhere.
Additional Comments – 9/15: I love how the owner responds only to the positive reviews — that tells you everything you need to know. Zero...
