This is a sweet little park on the outskirts of Easley. Fairly new and has some good points and some less than good points. So that we end on a good note, here's the less than good points first . There's no restrooms at all..not even a port-a-potty. Trails are not long and would be tough to find enough to do to spend the day. However it is easy to skip over parts of the trails and cut across to another section, but not very well marked so if you do cut cor ears or walk to creek, its then hard to determine which loop you're on and/or which direction you are walking due to long switchbacks. Only one picnic table and one covered bench seat table. Would love to see more picnic tables in some more private areas No grills, firepits, running water, campsites, or other typical park amenities. Gates are closed and locked at dark...I think...but may close at specific time before dark wo dont quote me on that. Just dont plan on staying too long or overnight. This point can go either way as good or not so good depending...well on several factors...which is the area is heavily and routinely visited and monitored by the police. Almost too frequently in my opinion as to give the vibe of "get out of here we know you're all up to no good"
As for the good things to leave you with: Well kept and not alot of litter or other yucky things that can often be found in city parks The area is fairly well signed and trail system is all loops so you may walk any ot all three loop sections in a visit, You would have to try really hard to get lost here There are some exercise enhancement/team building equipment on site...like tubes, beams, tires, etc. you can incorporate in your walk for some diversity in your workout or bring a group or the kids to teach group dynamics, leadership, active listening, and sooo many more things you can do with this assortment of "things." No formal instructions on how to use them, so personal creativity is your only limitation! There are two covered structures, well built and not been marked up with graffiti or other vandalism...one is informational kiosk the other is a small pavilion type structure with bench seating. So Tvany time only two groups of 6 or less could enjo a sit down snack or activity. Trails are all flat, wide, and mostly level...its a very well constructed system and has very few obstacles in the pathways and makes for an easy walk for most people in all physical conditions . (In fact Wheelchairs could probably navigate trail on a dry ground day with no problem, but does have one trail that is officially ADA compliant...there are 2 to 3 handicapped spaces in the parking area too) infoundnthe trails to be planned quite well and Utilize the terrain to minimize erosion and other water issues on land with little elevation change. Only a couple spots were traded more than around 6% and would be an issue for someone with limitations to navifate...mostly due to red mud slicks which is kinda not preventable in the upstate in general. I also appreciated the well constructed bridges and boardwalks that allowed safe passage over creeks and low lying we areas of the trails. This one ties in to number 6 of the not so good points... the police presence and operation hours. their presence is appreciated because i can only assume it's the reason this park is typically clean and safe without vandalism or riff raff hooligans lurking around with nefarious intent.
Overall pretty good park for a quick walk or to use as part of a daily workout regimine. Clean, convenient, safe, and well maintained...and the best part is its FREE! (Just use the bathroom before...
Read moreAfter reading reviews of this trail in AllTrails we went with low expectations but we were pleasantly surprised and glad we decided to check it out anyways. It's actually a nice trail that has a pretty smooth, well packed surface. It started raining while we were about ⅓ of the way around the loop but we continued on to finish it as the rain didn't make the trail slick, sloppy muddy, or pooled with water. The boardwalk sections are a nice addition around the creek (even though I'm not generally a big fan of man-made structures in trails). The occasional noise from nearby houses isn't too bad and is easily ignored. Overall it's actually a nice local trail that would be suitable for most any age and...
Read moreHaving fun with family but trails really need to be better marked (maybe we just misunderstood them 🤷🏻♀️) . We came with family, some who can’t go long distances so we picked “yellow” which was described as the shortest trail however 45 min in still no sign of parking lot. Will be great with kids older than 5 and anyone who can do longer walks.
So after coming back to the entrance the trail we were in is the “brown” but the labels appear to be yellow so don’t be like us. This is a picture of the map and here is a picture of the Brown label. The “yellow” trail is the all gravel loop great for wheel chairs...
