A truly amazing find! As an organizer for a golf group in the Charleston, SC, area, we work with many golf courses up and down the SC coast. I cannot express enough what a great experience it is working with the Wedgefield staff and playing this fun course. The course is fun and challenging and the staff is truly the best you will find anywhere!! The customer service, from the top down, is unrivaled! From the moment we pulled up, staff were there to greet us with a smile (actually IN the parking lot), began unloading our golf clubs, had our carts assigned, names on carts, lined up, and ready to go, even though we were late in getting our information to them the evening before. The Pro even managed to get my group out (with six groups) all at the same time so we could finish up in time for lunch, which was a blessing in 100° heat! He then even came out to check on us on the course! The pub is also cute, comfortable, amazing and welcoming. They treated us and accommodated us like we were family. As an organizer, they made me look good! We will be going back as often as we can to play this course. It truly is a hidden gem!

This course was a disappointment even though the staff was friendly and professional. It was very wet the day we played and cart path only. Most of the greens are excessively protected by numerous bunkers and water. I joked that the designer was the Marquis de Sade. They have no bag drop so you must lug your bags from the lot and load them yourself. Getting in and out was a bit of an adventure as you have to drive the bottleneck that is Georgetown. The rush hour traffic going the other way was ridiculous and even though I left shortly after 1PM there was still some traffic heading back to 17 north. There is only one practical route to get here from the South Strand so check traffic before you leave to make sure you can get there on time. I would be willing to give the course another shot in the Spring but not sure the rest of my weekly golf group feels the same. The course has recently joined the MB Golf Trails group but I believe they are priced too high near the upper end. Cart paths are a bit of a mess but that seems to be a low priority for most courses in the Grand Strand area.

We always have a blast at Wedgefield! Took a group of 9 guys down ans stayed on property. The historic value, the wood work, the craftsmanship, the food, the staff, and the golf were amazing. We got to see some gators, which was super cool. The Spanish moss on the trees is just beautiful. Nice driving range. The pizza here is also the best around. Sout Carolinas best kept secret. Enjoy!

Course is a below average beat up municipal course. Do not be fooled by Country Club in the name, if there are members I am sure the fees are very low. Greens have large spots of dirt, crab grass and clover. Slowest greens ever which is ok for the hackers all over the course Tough to get the break read through dirt and clover. Fairways and tee boxes are beat up. Pace of play is OK but it doesn't matter no starter and no ranger so take as long as you want. Feel free to jump in front of people at the turn even if there is a backup don't grab a beer if you want to keep your spot. The bag man in the lot is fantastic, it is all down...
