Family of 5 ( kids are 14, 12, 9). The 12 and 9 enjoyed it, the rest of us did not. Overall, it's not that Cosmos did anything wrong....it just wasn't overally interesting after the first few minutes as most of the demonstrations are the same principle, different set up. Our tour guide was a high school age girl. She was polite but just not really "into it". Maybe if we had a guide that was really excited about the tour/demonstrations, our experience would be different. Tour was barely 30min....again i think it's bc our guide was not overly engaging so only the few kids on the tour wanted to try out stuff out for themselves after each demo. Place was clean, easy to buy online and check in. Just not something we loved....our least fav attraction of our week in the Black Hills. We must be the minority tho bc we stayed in cabins directly across from cosmos and the place was always busy. My one real complaint is that the tour guide has a couple "jokes" where they ask for tips and there is also a tip bucket on the way out. It's a pet peeve of mine when staff ask for tips within their "tour script". Good service will yield a tip...
Read moreThe mystery is obviously the way the cabins are built on a slant. It works with optical illusions and fooling our eyes while our brains are trying to catch up. My kids loved it and its a great story. I'm only giving it 3 stars because the illusions and slanted home made me very dizzy and I would have appreciated the warning its not great for those who experience motion sickness. There's a warning for those who are unsteady on their feet or have physical limitations but not others who get naseous easily. Jada was great tour guide but I could have done without the daily dose of nausea.
Edit: Your equilibrium gets thrown off causing nasuea and dizziness based on the slant of the house. Myself and two others in my your group had to leave the cabin. My husband was also dizzy as we left. Speaking to a friend who had also visited, she also left dizzy and naseous. Its absolutely fun but a fair warning for your equilibrium would be great. I would have sat out...
Read moreThis is one of the most unique places that you could ever visit. Both my fiancee and myself found this little gem literally by accident and couldn't be more satisfied that we did. The place is a bit off the beaten path and has a wonderful back story as the creation of the place. The gift shop is reasonable and has a variety of nick packs and souvenirs. Much like everyone's else's description the place is fantastic. We had no wait time for our tour ( under 5 min) The tour was about 40..ish minutes but the description of the place and the "uniqueness" through out tour guide was both informative and funny. As your walking up the path your greeted by this observation of thre trees and how this gravity is affecting the trees then...you are introduced to the cabin. You feel the pulls of gravity affect you in so many directions. I'd definitely recommend this...
