Heritage Recreation Center — Attraction in South Hill

Frustrating and disappointing experience.

Heritage Recreation Center has four beautiful soccer fields that are always empty and now I understand why. They charge $40/hour, even when no one is using them. When we tried to play, someone kicked us out and told us to use the “free” smaller fields, which are in horrible condition. I nearly rolled my ankle, and the place was full of duck poop. Totally unsafe and clearly abandoned.

What’s worse? You can see staff mowing lawns, watering plants, answering phones… all while the fields are locked behind a paywall and going unused. This place was likely funded by taxpayer money, yet it’s being run like a private business.

This is not how you support community sports or youth recreation. Do better, Pierce...

This is a fun place to bring all our kids, huge fields, big play areas, access to bathrooms, not to mention we walk the trail on the back side and its pretty long. We walk to the other park at the South side of the fields which also has a big field and play ground and...

Be careful, the public service workers will yell and berate you if your a woman doing anything they think is wrong. I wouldn't trust your female loved ones being in this park with a psychopath on the loose so close...
