Great hike to two secluded lakes. The hike is not very strenuous so one doesn't need to be the best hiker:)
At the second lake there are places to cliff jump from 15 to 30ft, or like me, I just found a big Boulder that was probably only 6 ft to jump off of.
There are kayak and paddle board rentals here so no need to bring your own, also there are a few picnic tables to have a nice lunch at.
The chipmunks are not afraid of people so zip up your bags and don't leave food unattended because the chipmunks will take it! When I came back from swimming in the lake there was an actual chipmunk searching through my bag, so be sure to zip up.

The drive up, alone, is beautiful in and of itself, with gorgeous trees, glorious views, and the chance to see some truly magnificent sites. Then you get to the parking lot, start your journey (some of it is uphill, keep in mind) and see THREE fantastic lakes. If you think to yourself, "Should I keep going?" after you get to the second lake, just know that the answer is YES!! The third lake is my favorite. So peaceful and breathtaking. -- P.S. Read moreGreat place to escape Tahoe when it's packed with people. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and there were still parking spaces available (make sure to bring $7 in cash).
After a short hike up to the lake, you are welcomed by a stunning view of the lake and several small waterfalls fed by melting snow. This makes the lake a bit chilly, but it's not so bad.
