I cannot tell you how to live your life, but I can tell you this trail is worth the hike.

This trail is worth the $5 parking. Which is cash only btw because there's no ranger on duty if you go early so its an honor system where you fill out a slip and place the money in a safety box. If you don't have the cash its certainly worth the risk to park alongside the road or risk getting a ticket (sans paying the fee).

The trail is worth getting lost. Well it's hard to get lost with plenty of signs and paved trails BUT you may feel like the lake doesn't exist. Just follow the signs that mention the lake NOT the loop. Its not a far walk (1.5/2 miles). You may feel like you are getting lost but keep going!

Once there the view is straight from a Bob Ross painting, serene and majestic. It's not a heavily populated trail (we went early on Monday morning so that could of been the reason for the emptiness) and it is a great workout. I wouldn't recommend brining small children because there's a bit of climbing and steep hills. It isn't difficult but could be challenging for those with tiny legs.

Overall beautiful view, bring a...

This hike was recommended to us by a local tour guide. He made one recommendation, go early! Like most recreational spots in Tahoe parking fills up. We made our way to the parking lot on a Monday around 8:30am. We were lucky to get the last open spot. On the weekends I'd go much earlier. Our initial thought was to hike to the falls and back. Reaching the falls was relatively easy and a little underwhelming so we continued on up the trail to Eagle Lake. You are hiking at around 6000 feet elevation making air a little sparse... The hike isn't very difficult and there are plenty of spacious areas to rest as needed. On our hike we saw everyone from toddlers to senior citizens making the trek. Reaching the lake made the trip worth every deep breath and step. For a leisurely hike and some time to relax at the lake I'd plan for a couple hours. I'd also highly recommend this hike! Oh and I think we saw a bear track... check...

This is the most beautiful place I've ever seen. Went to Lake Tahoe for our honeymoon, 10 years ago, and decided to take a drive around the lake to see Emerald Bay. We ended up at the trailhead for this lake and decided to take a hike. Absolutely gorgeous, I will never forget it and plan to...

~Cocktail blue skies, Crystal clear waters. Rippling green grasses with blotches of colorful wildflowers ~ How’d you describe your summer? 📍 Eagle Lake, South Lake Tahoe Distance: ~4 miles round trip from Eagle Lake Trailhead Why see Eagle Lake? When it comes to scenery, the Eagle Falls trail offers up some of the most beautiful landscape the Lake Tahoe Basin has to offer. There is something for everyone here; waterfalls, creeks, lakes, granite peaks, and lush vegetation. How to get here? Take Highway 89 North, approximately 8 miles from South Lake Tahoe to Eagle Falls Trailhead. After obtaining your wilderness permit at the Eagle Falls Trailhead, continue southwest on the trail. Climbing gently at first, and then ascending a steep set of stone steps. Quickly you’ll come across the falls. Some hikers choose to turn around here. If you’re continuing to the lake, follow the trail gradually uphill another half mile or so until you reach a fork. The trail on the right leads to the lake, resting in a glacial cirque below North Maggie’s Peak. Best time to visit: Early Spring, Summer or Fall Parking: Multiple paid parking spots are available at the Eagle Falls Trailhead. Although you can park for free off Highway 89 around the Eagle Falls Picnic Area/Emerald Bay Overlook. Pro tip: Being so close to South Lake Tahoe, this trail is very popular. It’s best to visit early in the morning. @beautifuldestinations @earthgallery @artofvisuals @discoverearth @wonderful_places @fantastic_earth @earthfocus @ourplanetdaily @illgrammers @big_shotz @urbanandstreet @nakedplanet #laketahoe #laketahoeofficial #laketahoelife #laketahoenevada #laketahoephotographer #laketahoephotography #laketahoesummer #tahoe #emeraldbay #emeraldbaylaketahoe #caverock #sandharbor #sandharborbeach #californialakes #discovercalifornia #californiaadventure #californiadreaming #californiacoast #californialife #californiaroadtrip #californiaphotographer #bayareaphotographer #bayareaphotographers #bayareaphotographerz #usaprimeshot #worldprimeshot #roadtripusa #reelsindia #reelsindiaofficial #reelsinstagram
