Heavenly Ski Resort — Attraction in South Lake Tahoe

we were told at the California lot entrance that we can park for free bc we have 4 people in the car, they said all we need to do is to register our car. We did as instructed. And came back to a ticket!! called heavenly multiple times and talked with different agents, none could provide useful information on how to follow up on the matter. Later spent some time to get a few email addresses online and contacted them to dispute our ticket. They said the dispute is declined bc we needed a “carpool verification tag”. But the person at the parking gate did NOT say such a thing.

having to pay a parking ticket while we followed exactly what we were told at the entrance + wasting so much time afterwards to try to dispute the ticket we didn’t deserve made this one of my worst experiences I’ve had at ski resorts.

I’m giving Heavenly a 1 star because: 1- the staff at the gate didn’t communicate proper information to us. 2- the staff who answer phone calls didn’t have proper information regarding this.

Heavenly is a special place for sure and by far one of the best views you can ever get at a resort. The breathing views of mountains, deserts, the lake are one of a kind and I've snowboarded all over north America. The terrian is fantastic when the snow comes and just like any place it gets tracked out after a few days with out the good white stuff we all hope for. Some of the negatives... Of course like most resorts the food and drink is very $$$$ especially for your options. Could be Vail thing. The runs could use a little more signage if you ask me, it was little challenging navigating the runs and I was using my map pretty regularly trying to hit all the runs I had hoped to get in. As a snowboarder the cat walks were pretty flat in places and if you don't hold good speed expect to do some walking. I did ok my kid got stuck more than usual. Aside from that we had a wonderful time this winter at heavenly and will be back someday I hope. I've got a lot of other places to conquer with my kid but we will always remember our trip...

You can go up here on the Heavenly Gondola during the summertime and winter. There was a halfway point on the gondola at the observation deck up here then you go further up the mountain to end up here. If you want to go to the observation deck you have to get off on the way up they don’t stop on the way down the mountain. They have a view of Lake Tahoe and a cafe and a hike to Martin’s Peak and a souvenir gift shop. After that you continue riding to the top of the ride. At the top you get off here. During the summer they have activities gem stone panning, rock climbing, zip line, the kid’s zip line, tubing, the Ridge Rider Mountain Coaster, hiking and the Tamarack Lodge. At the Lodge they have a store with snacks and some souvenirs. Also a bar with food that opens later in the day. You can buy tickets to any of the activities individually at a ticket booth across from the Lodge when you are there or a package deal online ahead of time. The Ridge Rider Mountain Coaster...
