A nice park in general, I tend to hang out there at night actually. There’s a big grass field you can lay on a blanket with a friend and look at the sky and the horizon. Some people came here to shoot fireworks on Pioneer Day. If you lay on the grass too late at night at some point the sprinklers might come on. If you’re a traveler it’s a good place to park and relax for a bit. You can’t park overnight, a police officer will come overnight and ask you to leave. There is a fairly large playground, a pavilion with picnic tables and bathrooms (which are opened seasonally, like all Salt Lake County parks), a large, flat grassy area, plenty of off-street parking(accessible from 700 W), and minimal use by the homeless population. There are numerous homeless encampments in the woods, just north of this park, but this is a different sort of hobo than the junkies that roam the parkway as you get closer...
