Nestled within the hills of Western Mass., this 5 acre hidden gem of a vineyard comes with a wonderful aspect of the western crag of Mt. Tom, viewed to the southeast. The grapevines surround a lovely lawn setting for the many Saturday evening concerts, which also host Food trucks and a welcoming space for further lawn chairs and picnics/blankets; in season, see the Events link at their website. Unlike some other winery visits, unless there is a planned event, there is no food routinely sold onsite. True to all vineyards, no outside alcohol may be brought in for these events; but non-alcohol beverages may be brought to supplement the current selection of 6 wines. Tastings are limited to Thurs-Fri beginning at 3pm & Sat-Sun hours begin at noon. Though wine club membership is available for a 15% reduction in per-bottle pricing and 50% reduced admission to weekend concerts, the proprietors and staff are just as welcoming to all visitors. Estate tours are available, as well as private Group tastings for 8 or more people. The bucolic view is enhanced by the grazing horses and stable just to the south, which are distant enough not to detract from the vineyard scents. This venue has been used to host weddings. If you can’t tell, I love this place, and while I have no business relationship with them, I have come to enjoy the venue/view and proprietors so much that I volunteer as available for the autumn harvest or spring bottling events, when the “call to assist” goes out to wine club members and...
Read moreVery snooty! I have been to wineries from the Napa Valley to the Finger Lakes and by far this is the worst winery I have ever been to. We were only allowed to purchase a glass of wine. We were told that if we wanted to purchase a whole bottle, we would have to leave the property. The cashier told us to "savor the glass and enjoy the view." We were at this same winery under previous ownership and were allowed to purchase a bottle and enjoy it on the property. We were charged $1 dollar less for 2 glasses than the whole cost of a bottle of wine under the current ownership. To me, it seems this winery chooses to make as much profit as they can on a mediocre bottle of wine. We went down the road a few miles to the neighboring town and enjoyed a finer bottle of wine and an equally...
