Owner rude, unprofessional, continually interrupted me and hung up on me because I requested a partial refund. There was a partial (not my area)evacuation of Outer Banks and didn’t want the wheelchair to be damaged as per contract. I contacted them to Pick Up so the wheelchair would not be damaged by storm/hurricane because that is my liability per contract. They picked it up. I contacted them for a partial refund and they said no because no evacuation of my specific location has been issued(beaches were closed). I responded by saying I called to pick it up to avoid damage to the wheelchair, so I thought I was abiding by the contract, but then Informed that the the evacuation clause preventing refund supersedes the damage clause because they do not mean this kind of damage, but are primarily concerned about vandalism. How was I supposed to know that? She justified her actions by saying she’s a small business. Other beach vendors provided partial credit for their rentals. In summary, contract not clear, very unprofessional. could have talked through this even if we agreed to disagree but she express anger, raised her voice, interrupted me repeatedly, paraphrase back wrong information and then hung up on me. I hope she was just having a bad day. Equipment was very good. Update: owner offered partial refund if I removed my review. This response only solidifies my view of their business ethics and professionalism. Thus all could have been easily avoided. Summary: beware if you...
Read moreA HUGE need fulfilled for our annual trip to the OBX!! My dad had his hip replaced 20 days before our scheduled trip and we were all concerned he wouldn't be able to enjoy the beach. OBX Beach Mobility made it one of the most memorable trips we've had to Corolla together because my dad was able to manage getting to the beach and staying on it all day. He didn't miss a beat! He was able to walk 3-4 miles a day on the beach as part of his physical therapy with the beach rollators. Having the beach rollator made him excited to go to the beach every day - it gave him purpose and focus. He was able to sit on the seat as well and watch his grandchildren play in the water when he wasn't walking miles on the beach. He is over 6’ tall and the adjustable height on the handlebars made a big difference for him and enabled him to walk upright and keep his gate normal.
We were stopped by so many people on the beach that work in the medical field asking him where he got this beach rollator from because they had never seen it before but knew the value it held. Thank you OBX Beach Mobility for recognizing such a huge need to enable families to come together of all generations. This was a very last minute reservation made and the owner was so prompt and attentive getting back to us within minutes and making it happen. We greatly appreciate her efforts...
Read moreMy family and I was able to get down to the Outer Banks the week of May 23rd and my parents were able to come with us. My mother, who is 83 y/o, is not able to walk very well, especially on sand. My mom said she would be happy to be all together with family and maybe see the beach from a distance from our cottage. Before we left for the beach, we searched the web and happened to find OBX Beach Mobility, and learned that they actually had a beach wheelchair that would make it possible for us to get my mom out onto the beach. Noelle was extremely helpful in answering all the questions I had and so we rented the beach wheelchair for the week. I must say, it was the best investment of our vacation! My mom was literally in tears when we pushed her out onto the beach. She was able to enjoy the beach with all of us. The chair was so easy to push over the sand and some small dunes. The oversize wheels made it so easy to push her anywhere on the beach. The umbrella was also a very nice feature as well. I am so thankful that we found you guys and if we ever get down that way again with my parents, we will be reaching out to you again. Thank...
