Could of been nice if the GPS took me to the right parking lot. sadly when I got their I couldn't see any where to park so I went down the road to a Pond conservation that has green arrow and trail goes into it. If you carry on up the road past the pond conversation you will see the parking lot for Wildlife management area. also when I got in their very confusing no trai signs and a lot of mountain bike traps open land all over the...

Disclosure: I work for MassWildlife and have been involved in the habitat management here.

Southwick WMA is beautiful. One of the few native grasslands in Massachusetts, it is a great place for hunting in season, birdwatching at other times, or just taking a nice walk. Wide open what looks like old farmlands that aren't used anymore good for walks or running. Would not go here on a hot day because there is no tree cover so you will get fried. Probably six miles or more if you went the entire perimeter. You can bring a dog but it must be leashed. There were a couple small water holes with a sign saying endangered tadpoles or something...

Wide open what looks like old farmlands that aren't used anymore good for walks or running. Would not go here on a hot day because there is no tree cover so you will get fried. Probably six miles or more if you went the entire perimeter. You can bring a dog but it must be leashed. There were a couple small water holes with a sign saying endangered tadpoles or something lived in them.

Beautiful location for field photoshoots! Great place to walk and bring your dog as well! Make sure to be aware of hunting season though and only go on Sundays during that time!

Great wildlife Park, i got these two photos within just the first 5 minute of walking in. There are also owl boxes through out so you may get a chance at seeing some owls to.
