Perfect place to cool off for a bit from the hot sun! Don't do what we did and drive up the gravel road to the top! That was scary in our car and its not the actual waterfall spot! There is a turn off you need to take (on the left) as you approach the canyon. If you hit the gravel gray stone road, you're making it harder on yourself. The left turn will lead you into a camp ground, where there is an information board and a designated parking area on the right. I would not recommended driving your car down the red dirt road to the actual falls; it has a lot of sand, boulders, and switchbacks! Its less than .5 miles, you can walk it! flip flops not recommended here as you'll be kicking up sand. We walked in and found the falls completed secluded and stayed for about 30 minutes. Travel tip: when you are walking the red sandy road, and get to the fork in the road (literally) that says creek to the left, and faux falls to the right, go to the right!! (I know, duh, but its actually confusing!)! Follow the red dirt road and you will be rewarded! Beautiful red rocks all around, stunning backdrop, and if you're lucky like we were, you may even have this magical place all to yourself! Greenery flourishes here in the summer, which was striking against the red rocks. Water shoes, sunscreen, and bathing suit required for an epic afternoon cool...

This is a beautiful hiking area, I would say moderate difficulty, with great views of the valley. It is called Faux Falls because the waterfall is not naturally occurring but is caused by pumping water from a steam on the east side of the rock ridge. We parked above the falls and walked the road up to where the stream is. There are many beautiful rock formations to enjoy and a road by the stream for easy hiking. We found some low to medium quality pieces of agate scattered around the area, but a couple of nicely...

Beautiful area with some great desert landscapes and a great waterfall. We parked along the road and hiked down to the waterfall. It was steep, and there's soft sand, but it's absolutely doable. (Moderate hike when coming down off the road to falls, much easier to hike from lake or campgrounds up to falls). We have also hiked up from Ken's Lake to the falls and back down as well (that's an easy hike). It's worth the short visit to see. It's really beautiful out here, leave no...

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of Moab to enjoy these gorgeous waterfall views nestled under red rock pinnacles SAVE to plan your visit and SHARE with your adventure friends. 📍Faux Falls (10 miles south of town) 🥾 1 mile w/ 85 ft EG plus more to explore the creek above and below the falls and out to Ken’s Lake 🛶👙🎣 Enjoy swimming, fishing or paddling at Ken’s Lake ⛺️ Camping available by lake through Recreation.gov If it weren’t for the name would you have guessed these falls were man made? ‼️If you visit please leave no trace Do not carve or mark the rocks in any way. Please pack out all your trash Stay off any cryptobiotic soil. #moabandbeyond #moab #waterfallhike #waterfalls #utahhiking #outdooradventures #exploremore #hikingadventures #roadtrip

You NEED add Southeastern Utah to your travel plans. SAVE to plan your adventures. While these areas have so much to explore these are my picks from my most recent visit. Stay tuned for more details on each of the hikes. Day 1: AM: Bear’s Ears National Monument 🪜Visit Edge of the Cedars State Park Museum and enter a historic Kiva! 🛕Speak with the Ranger and find which ruins site is right for you. There are 100s. Visit these sacred spaces with respect and don’t touch, mark, or enter the sites. Some examples: Moon House Ruins (permit required) Butler Wash Ruins PM: 🧲Natural Bridges National Monument Home to 3 epic-sized natural bridges, Puebloan Ruins, ancient rock art, and dark night skies. Find every level of Adventure from all accessible to high adventure. Golden Hour: 👀Moki Dugway Lookout 🚙Drive Valley of the Gods Day 2: Hovenweep National Monument 🥾Hovenweep Ruins Trail 1.6 miles to visit 13 towers! Or 🥾Ruins trail to Holly Pueblo 8 miles RT includes above trail plus some short slot sections, canyon view, and a 2nd ruins site. Day 3 : Not your typical Moab 💦Ken’s lake and Faux Falls Trail 3.4 mile loop 🥾Middle Earth Waterfall 1 mile RT Which of these activities are you most excited about? #nationalpark #canyonlandsnationalpark #arches #naturalbridgesnationalmonument #ruins #bearsearnationalmonument #southernutah #visitutah #utahhiking
