Worth the drive - we were heading from 70 to Moab and had some time to spare, so we decided to take UT-128 instead of US-191, and detoured through Castle Valley. We weren't quite sure what to expect, but this was just one of several places affording spectacular views of the surrounding area. Several of the side roads seemed unpassable (unless you're intending to drive off-road in snow), but La Sal Loop Rd was clear the whole way, and definitely worth the extra hour or so the...

The drive up here is absolutely gorgeous and very different than driving anywhere else in Moab. There are a lot of different types of trees, the weather is much cooler, and there's significantly more wildlife. The lookout point itself is stunning; it really gives you an idea of how vast and varied Utah is. We were the only people there when we went, so it was very peaceful. There's also a restroom at the lookout, but no sink, so bring hand sanitizer if you plan...

This was a truly awe inspiring 62 mile drive through amazing natural beauty. The red rock formations were, of course, incredible but then we started the ascent into the mountains.... WOW! The Vista on display during the drive and at the lookout points are not to be missed. Carve out some time for this amazing site and you will not be...

Beautiful views from LaSal Mountain Lookout and much needed relief station as you are crossing the range to Castle Valley. The LaSal Mountain Loop is a lovely paved drive with a load of hiking trail options and a vast variety of biomes that you travel through. Just another reason to enjoy your trip to Moab.
