First and foremost. This is NOT a thing to do, if it off shape, overweight, older our intolerant of chaos. While it's only .6 miles from the parking lot, there are 380+ very very steep wooden stairs down to the bottom of the falls. It's not a traditional water fall. It's a long water shute that empties into a small pool at the bottom.
KIDS ARE EVERYWHERE. Climbing on rocks. Sliding in the water. Think you're going to get a nice picture of the falls. FORGET IT. The bottom is just a cluttered mass of kids, parents, dogs, shoes and socks, water bottles. You name it. It's there. Don't expect a quiet place to sit either. Sharp jagged Boulders begging you to make one wrong step. Because when you do it's gonna hurt.

So unless you are 1. A glutton for punishment. 2. A water falls fanatic, The juice isn't...
Read moreI have complications from a former brain tumor and hiking is my favorite thing to do, I read reviews to make sure I can handle the hikes ahead. There is a part of the hike where the path turns into a slanted rock and if you hit it in the rain, you need to be aware that it could be a fall risk. My one suggestion would be to note the distances on each trail, the map we looked at did not have that, and if you are a disabled hiker like me, make sure to take a walking stick for the steep trails. OR park in the lot closer to the falls. If you see the cabin (as pictured below) You are in...

I hiked on this trail after rain, so the entire trail along with the stairs was very slippery. The entrance to the trails open at 7 AM, so I had to wait till the...
