Saving WV Wildlife (SWVWL) — Attraction in Spencer

I was fortunate enough to locate and transport an injured momma opossum with a pouch full of babies to the SWVWL sanctuary a few days ago. Terri was very friendly and professional. She immediately assessed the injuries and let me know the vet would be coming to see her the next day. It takes a special kind of person to be able to deal with an uncaring (at times) public in an effort to help animals. I'm glad I got to meet Terri and see first hand the kind of love and support she provides. I fell in love with the animals in the short time I was there. I was unaware of POVF until I happened upon a Facebook post about the rescue of Fuzzy the bear. This sanctuary is a nonprofit, charitable wildlife sanctuary in Pocahontas County, WV. I followed Fuzzy’s journey til the end. This facility went above and beyond my expectations as to what wildlife caregivers offer and provide. We traveled 4hrs to take a blind baby fawn (my children call Bambi) that wondered into our farm. As soon as we got there they got to work giving her antibiotics making sure she wasn’t injured and just giving her all the treatment she needed.
