This state park is a wonderful place to connect with nature, learn about the history of the area, and get some exercise. This park is right outside the city of Sioux Falls, which makes it perfect for quick trips. There are a lot of different trails to choose from. There are maps available to bring with you and there are posted maps along the trails. The trails go through open prairie space and wooded areas. The trails are pretty flat, which make it good for young kids and older folks. The views of the Big Sioux River and Iowa are beautiful.

What an experience! This is really a MUST SEE area to enjoy a sacred place for several Indian tribes. The Free admission and easy to navigate trails make this a very cost effective way to wear out the kids and the dog (allowed on trails with a leash). $8.00 per car load for a 24 hour day pass is a real bargain. Plan on spending several hours. With the Visitor center included with a video and cultural area and than the trails. A good time for all.

Good Earth is such a gem. We've heard great things and finally took the kids for a hike there. We loved the huge amount of paths with lots of variety in views and difficulty. In two trips we still haven't gotten to them all. The visitor center was really nicely done and had some interesting displays about the history of the location. We are hoping to visit often and catch some of the kid activities they regularly host!

I went for the moonlight walk. There was an overwhelming turn out that the interns seemed unprepared for (I think everyone was surprise). They should have split into two groups starting 5-10 minutes apart. Also, instead of saying we're interns so we're not professionals, it would have been nicer for the intern to refer to herself and the other young man as interns and future professionals. Aside from that, I thought the walk was well planned for families with small children.

The information given that I could hear at one of the stops was correct and informative. The interns did seem to be very enthusiastic about doing their job and it was nice to see that. There was a telescope set up at the end of the hike for persons to view the moon.

There were an overwhelming number of people there, but it was such a nice event and free to the public. I also saw, while using the incredibly clean restroom, that they have classes for kids of different ages. I would love to see that advertised more. The classes sounded very interesting and like they might be a lot of fun.

We will return here for gentle hikes and viewing from the decks along the way. Remember to bring and pay your park...

Do not bring your dog, so many people I saw with dogs that day. My dog got attacked by ticks (20-30). I got 20 off by brushing them off quickly but some made it home. OMG the ticks at home got so big!! Crazy, like large swollen oversized kidney beans I mistook for rocks that had a little squish and wiggling mini legs. So fat they became unable to walk.

I’d recommend seeing this park, no dog, after the trees fully bloom. There were a couple hawks at the end of the trail, fun to see. Garden snake on trail cute and fun for my younger kids to talk about....

This is a brand new park just outside of Sioux Falls to the east. The various loops are short (each less than a mile) and easily navigated. There are many informational signs and a couple of great viewing platforms. One of the trails provides walk-in access to the single reservable campsite on the property which is beside the river for canoe access. One of the other reviews is correct in that, if you use Google Maps it will take you to the very rear of the property which does not have a public entrance. An edit for the Google Maps location has...
