This is a beautiful little lake not far out of Sioux Falls. It sits down in a little valley so it is blocked a lot of the wind which is awsome for kayaking. The lake is surrounded by pine trees and feels more like the black hills than 15 minutes from Sioux Falls. There is a really nice artificial beach that looks well kept. There are 2 boat ramps on the lake.

It's a beautiful spot for family photos, any time of year! This is a state park, so there is a $8 per day fee (or seasonal passes). They do have a ticket booth that accepts cards, which we were thankful for! The lower level has a beach area, and the top level has beautiful views of the lake and a small park area. Restrooms are on the upper level as well.

Nice sandy beach in the swimming area. Not very rough ground once you get in the water. Relaxing place to cool off. Great lake to kayak in. There's no large motor boats. A very relaxing way to spend the afternoon.

Decent fishing, good place to take kids fishing for the day. Large fishing dock and decent shore fishing near it. I've caught a couple small cats, lots of bullheads and carp here. Took my paddle board out on the lake one Saturday, was fairly busy yet still not crowded, it really is a much bigger lake then it seems since it's so long. Everyone was very friendly. Brought the paddle board to the boat launch area and was very easy to just drive up, put it in the water and then go park my car with the rest of the boat trailers and walk back to the dock. It's a no wake zone lake. Plenty of boats, kayaks, sup boards. There is a daily fee that you put in an envelope and drop in a box with the receipt stuck inside your windshield. So you need exact cash, $8 I believe. No...

This lake could be so much nicer than it is. Plus it would be nice if there was public access to it that you didn’t have to have a state park pass to get into. Yes I know that there is public access on the north west side of the lake but that half of the lake is only 3 feet deep or less. Perhaps that side of the lake could be dredged out to and provide a little variety to the habitat for fish on that side of the lake rather than just have one big mud flat full of...
